Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (1-hour lunch)
Compensation:
Up to $100,000 annually, based on experience
Additional Pay:
Performance-based increases and bonus opportunities
Role Overview We are seeking a skilled Structural Steel Estimator & CAD Specialist to support project planning and design efforts within a fast-paced steel fabrication environment. This position is well-suited for a detail-oriented professional who combines estimating expertise with hands‑on CAD and modeling experience.
What You’ll Do
Develop comprehensive cost estimates for structural steel projects, including materials, labor, manpower, schedules, and projected margins
Analyze and interpret structural drawings, blueprints, and shop details to determine project scope
Create and modify CAD drawings and 3D models for structural steel components
Work closely with internal teams to support project coordination and execution
Maintain organized and accurate estimating records and documentation
Participate in occasional local site visits using a company‑provided vehicle
Required Qualifications
5 to 7 or more years of experience in structural steel estimating
Strong CAD experience within the structural steel industry
Proficiency with AutoCAD and 3D modeling tools (Autodesk Inventor preferred)
In-depth understanding of structural steel detailing and construction practices
Ability to read and interpret structural blueprints and shop drawings
Strong computer and documentation management skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Comfortable in a deadline‑driven, fast‑paced environment
Preferred Background
Prior experience in steel fabrication environments
Combined experience in estimating and CAD/design roles
Additional Requirements
Ability to pass a 5‑panel drug screening
Willingness to travel locally as needed (company vehicle provided)
