VP, Controller – Public Biotech (Commercial Build-Out)
We’ve been engaged by a
public, clinical-to-commercial stage biotech
to recruit a
VP, Controller
to lead and scale the accounting function ahead of a pivotal launch.
This is a high-impact role for a hands‑on leader who has operated in a
public biotech environment
and is excited to build infrastructure in a dynamic, evolving organization.
Key Responsibilities
Own all aspects of accounting, close, and financial reporting (10-Q/10-K)
Lead SEC reporting, technical accounting, and SOX readiness/optimization
Build and scale processes, controls, and systems to support commercialization
Partner cross-functionally with FP&A, Legal, Clinical, and Commercial teams
Support audit, compliance, and board‑level deliverables
Ideal Background
Prior
Controller / VP Controller experience in a public biotech company
Strong SEC reporting and technical accounting foundation
Experience in
pre‑commercial → commercial transition
highly preferred
CPA strongly preferred (Big 4 foundation a plus)
