
Sales Engineer

ifm is seeking a self‑motivated, results‑driven Sales Engineer to join our growing organization. This fully remote position reports to the Regional Sales Manager in Colorado and focuses on working with automation machine builders and manufacturing plants in the Boise, Idaho region to define process improvements that enhance bottom‑line results.
Responsibilities
Engage with customers and prospects to learn about their business, products, and improvement initiatives.
Implement a sales process that clearly defines the customer's challenge and their concept for a solution.
Determine the decision‑making process and key stakeholders involved in a sale.
Leverage technical product and application knowledge to provide high‑quality solutions to automation challenges.
Effectively communicate with customers using digital media such as web conferences, LinkedIn, and phone calls.
Conduct in‑person meetings on large projects to evaluate machines, solve applications, or present ifm solutions.
Work in a team selling environment to leverage expertise across the Sales team.
Energetically pursue new business and prospecting to develop future growth.
Continuously learn automation industry trends and ifm solutions that relate to those trends.
Position largely measured on sales and new customer growth.
Requirements
5+ years of related technical sales experience preferred.
Engineering or Business degree preferred.
Industrial automation experience preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with all levels within an organization.
Ability to sell in remote or face‑to‑face situations.
Attention to detail; ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
Self‑disciplined with a high sense of urgency to be a collaborative business partner.
Ability to work with various teams as well as independently.
