About the Role We’re seeking an experienced
Mold Maker
to support the machining, fabrication, assembly, repair, and preventive maintenance of injection molds used in a regulated manufacturing environment. You’ll work hands‑on with complex tooling, collaborate across departments, and help drive continuous improvement in mold performance and reliability.
What You’ll Do Machining & Fabrication
Provide technical input on mold design, manufacturability, and quoting.
Set up and operate CNC machines, mills, lathes, and EDM equipment.
Interpret blueprints, CAD files, and technical instructions to machine components to tight tolerances.
Select machining strategies based on steel types (H13, S7, P20, SS, etc.) and hardness levels.
Fabricate cores, cavities, ejector systems, and perform finish machining and grinding.
Mold Assembly, Testing & Troubleshooting
Assemble molds and verify proper fit, function, and alignment of all mechanisms.
Inspect critical surfaces and dimensions for accuracy and finish quality.
Troubleshoot issues during assembly, testing, or production and develop corrective actions.
Perform repairs, engineering changes, fine‑tuning, and general mold maintenance.
Document adjustments, critical dimensions, and updates.
Operational Support & Continuous Improvement
Collaborate with planning, routing, purchasing, and cross‑functional teams.
Track job time, manage priorities, and escalate schedule risks when needed.
Support molding and maintenance teams with technical expertise.
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards.

What You Bring
Technical Trade School Certification preferred
5+ years
of experience in mold making, machining, or mold design
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and CAD drawings
Experience with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office
Basic SolidWorks experience preferred
Experience with Mastercam and/or hyperMILL
Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
