
Industrial Designer - Furniture

SkillSetGroup is seeking an entry-level Assistant Designer to work in the Irvine, CA area.
This position will be supporting the product development process from concept through production for commercial and home furniture. The chosen candidate
must have
experience with creating sketches, produce 2D & 3D renderings in furniture design.
Home furnishing design experience is also a must. This will be a 100% on-site DIRECT HIRE position.
Responsibilities
Assist in the design and development of new furniture products from concept through final production.
Create sketches, renderings, and digital presentations to communicate design ideas and concepts.
Develop product concepts that balance aesthetics, ergonomics, functionality, and manufacturability.
Prepare detailed design files, technical drawings, and specifications for internal teams and manufacturing partners.
Collaborate with engineering and product development teams to ensure designs meet cost, quality, and production requirements.
Support prototype development, testing, and design revisions.
Participate in design reviews and present concepts to internal stakeholders.
Maintain organized design documentation and project files. Communicate deadlines and requirements to project managers
Manage and archive files as directed
Able to manage multiple complex projects on time; able to self-manage projects and work within established deadlines
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in industrial design, furniture design, product design, or a related field.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign).
Strong sketching, visualization, and concept development skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Basic proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
