Rebecca Taylor is seeking a
Senior Technical Designer
to support the technical development of garments from concept through production. This role is focused on hands‑on execution, requiring a strong technical foundation and the ability to independently manage categories while partnering cross‑functionally.
You will work closely with design, production, and global vendor teams to ensure consistency in fit, construction, and quality. This is an individual contributor role with the opportunity to provide light guidance to junior team members and interns.
What You’ll Do
Own technical development from initial concept through production for assigned categories
Lead fit sessions and provide clear, actionable fit corrections
Ensure garments meet brand standards for fit, balance, and construction
Create and maintain accurate technical packages, including specs and construction details
Partner with design and production to ensure product is executed as intended
Communicate directly with overseas vendors to support development and resolve issues
Troubleshoot fit and construction challenges with practical, efficient solutions
Maintain consistency in fit and standards across styles
Provide support and guidance to interns or junior team members as needed
Qualifications
Associate’s degree in Fashion Design, Technical Design, or related field (BS preferred)
8–10+ years of technical design experience in women’s apparel
Strong knowledge of pattern making, garment construction, and fit analysis
Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Excel
Experience working with global vendors
Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate fit direction
Detail‑oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities independently
