US Expansion Layout Engineer

US Expansion Layout Engineer As a US Expansion Layout Engineer you will lead all aspects of planning for a new memory manufacturing facility expansion in Boise. You will be responsible for crafting and maintaining production equipment layouts that optimize production space and output, while minimizing impacts to site facilities. Innovation is highly valued at Micron, and you will have the opportunity to tackle sophisticated problems and establish the foundational plan in a brand‑new semiconductor manufacturing facility. The ability to understand and optimally communicate the layout impacts of manufacturing changes is crucial.

Responsibilities

Develop AutoCAD/Revit drawings for all equipment installations, de‑facilitations, and relocations

Maintain timely ramp plan layouts that accurately display all planned tool activity and outline ways to optimize existing and future equipment layouts

Represent fab areas and coordinate design relocations, upgrades, remodels, and expansions

Partner with key collaborators to develop and drive improvements to key performance metrics

Identify project requirements, develop timelines and business processes, and hold collaborators accountable for deliverables to meet project objectives

Partner with Facilities, Site/Global Engineering, and Fab Support/Automation teams to ensure layout feasibility based on structural, mechanical, electrical, cost, and schedule limitations

Collaborate with local and global collaborators to research alternative technical solutions, and develop processes and associated business rules to address critical/major layout planning issues

Compose and deliver presentations that clearly articulate sophisticated issues, propose solutions, and identify potential risks to a broad audience

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering

2+ years of experience in a layout planning role

Preferred Qualifications

Proficient skills in AutoCAD; intermediate skills in Revit, Navisworks, and BIM 360

Proficient data extraction, analysis, and reporting/data visualization skills (SQL, Python, Tableau, PowerBI, etc.)

Intermediate understanding of the semiconductor manufacturing environment/infrastructure

Deep understanding of area tool configurations, capabilities, processes, and mechanical functionality

Experience turning sophisticated and ambiguous problem statements into structured solutions while working in a highly multi‑functional environment

Experience operating independently while maintaining a high degree of organization and control

Experience managing, prioritizing, and completing multiple multi‑functional projects in parallel and on time

Experience analyzing and interpreting data, drawing conclusions, defining recommended actions, and reporting results across diverse technical and non‑technical groups in a concise and clear manner
