
Asset Management Operations-Portfolio Servicing Team-Dallas-Associate

The Portfolio Servicing team provides full front‑to‑back operational support for Goldman Sachs Asset Management’s fund portfolio, which manages approximately $1 trillion across more than 1,000 funds. This Associate‑level position, based in Dallas, Texas, focuses on portfolio accounting, cash management, and serves as the primary point of contact for all operations‑related inquiries.
Responsibilities
Oversee the fund launch process for new investment products and distribution opportunities, change events, restructures, and terminations, acting as a project manager and coordinating multiple teams to meet tight deadlines.
Collaborate with external counterparties (custodian, prime broker, etc.) to enable connectivity, establish operational flows, and respond to service requests.
Facilitate new investments into GSAM by working with internal business groups, operations teams, external managers, and custodians.
Serve as the central point of contact for selected funds, responding to stakeholder inquiries, problem‑solving issues, and understanding the various components of fund operations.
Maintain the investment book of record for diverse funds (mutual funds, hedge funds, ETFs), ensuring accurate data for portfolio managers.
Participate in internal governance committees overseeing various stages of the fund lifecycle.
Prioritize risk management, escalating issues promptly to the appropriate audiences.
Explore and propose solutions to improve fund operations using business intelligence, low‑code automation, industry utilities, and external vendor solutions.
Upgrade strategic workflow infrastructure to enhance control over launch and change events.
Facilitate meetings, curate agendas, arrange presenters, collate materials, and communicate with directors to run funds’ board meetings.
Perform expense analysis to maximize commercial benefit when evaluating fund service providers.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required.
3–5 years of professional experience, preferably in Project Management or Middle Office functions.
Ability to handle multiple complex tasks, prioritize effectively, and remain flexible as needs change.
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with confidence to engage professionally and persuasively with portfolio managers and senior firm figures.
Highly organized, with meticulous attention to detail and excellent follow‑through.
Proven ability to build global relationships and convey complex issues to a broad range of stakeholders with varying product expertise.
Self‑motivated, able to multi‑task, and thrive in a fast‑paced team environment.
Proficient knowledge and understanding of financial markets and products.
