Short Description

Bowman has an opportunity for a Layout Designer II to join our team in Phoenix, Safford, or Tucson. Purpose

Provides intermediate-level facility and process plant design and drafting support for engineering projects by developing accurate and compliant design deliverables. This role supports design development of heavy industrial mining facilities in all facets while working collaboratively with engineers and project teams. Applies growing technical knowledge and judgment to execute assigned work with moderate supervision and increasing independence. Responsibilities

Leadership and Direction

Receives general guidance from engineers and senior designers regarding objectives, priorities, and technical standards. Works independently on routine and moderately complex design assignments, seeking guidance on more complex issues. Collaborates effectively with engineers, designers, and project managers to support project objectives. At the Operational and Company Level

Supports project scoping, planning, and execution activities as assigned. Tracks assigned design tasks to meet project schedules and deliverable requirements. Incorporates design revisions and quality feedback in a timely manner. Coordinates design efforts with other disciplines to ensure integrated project deliverables. Do the Work

Produces and modifies 3D models and CAD layouts derived from specifications, flow sheets and engineering guidance. Coordinates with engineers and other designers to ensure adherence to project specifications, applicable codes, and standards. Works collaboratively with engineering staff to mature project designs and update facility design layouts with detailed design engineering models. Supports engineering, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases of facilities. Success Metrics and Competencies

Qualifications

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent commensurate experience required. Associate’s degree in computer aided drafting/design and instrumentation or equivalent degree preferred. 3+ years experience in drafting and/or engineering technician experience in mining or heavy industrial plant designs. Experience with AutoCAD Revit preferred. Experience with Autodesk Plant 3D and Inventor a plus. Familiarity with practices and procedures pertaining to technical matters to include construction, manufacturing, mineral processing. Benefits

Primarily indoor professional office environment, which can consist of possible bright/dim light, noise, fumes, odors, and traffic. Mobility around an office environment, occasional squat or kneel.
