About The Opportunity Our client, a well‑established manufacturer in the industrial and food processing equipment space, is seeking a
Business Development Representative
to support continued growth. This role is ideal for a sales‑driven professional who enjoys prospecting, qualifying opportunities, and partnering closely with outside sales and internal operations teams. Candidates must reside within commuting distance of the southwest suburbs of Chicago.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and develop new sales opportunities through market research and lead generation
Re‑engage existing and past leads to uncover new business opportunities
Qualify prospective accounts and initiate outbound contact
Maintain and update CRM records (Salesforce preferred)
Assist with the quotation process for capital equipment and full production lines
Assemble customer proposals using standardized templates and project documentation
Coordinate sales calendars, appointments, and project timelines
Partner closely with outside sales, service, and operations teams
Represent the organization professionally in all customer interactions
Qualifications
Experience working with multiple levels of management within mid‑to‑large organizations
Prior experience using a CRM system (Salesforce strongly preferred)
Demonstrated ability to identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Highly organized with strong follow‑up and attention to detail
Self‑motivated with the ability to manage multiple prioritiesMechanical aptitude or comfort working in technical/manufacturing environments
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
