Position Summary The Commercial & Personal Lines Sales Producer is responsible for developing, selling, and growing a book of commercial & personal insurance business, with a primary focus on new business development and long-term client relationships. This is a consultative, sales-driven role centered on identifying risk exposures, designing tailored insurance solutions, and driving profitable growth for the agency.

The Producer serves as the primary sales and consulting lead for producer-led accounts while partnering closely with Personal and Commercial Lines Account Managers who provide day-to-day servicing, renewals, and administrative support. As the book matures, the Producer is expected to focus on larger, more complex commercial opportunities aligned with agency growth goals.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities – Sales Strategy & Business Development

Develop and execute an approved annual sales business plan aligned with agency revenue and growth goals.

Prospect for new personal and commercial insurance opportunities through networking, referrals, centers of influence, and community involvement.

Identify, qualify, and pursue prospective personal and commercial clients.

Build and manage a consistent sales pipeline and document activity in agency systems.

Meet or exceed established new business and revenue targets.

Client Consulting & Producer Responsibilities

Serve as the primary sales, consulting, and relationship lead for assigned producer-led accounts.

Conduct risk assessments and discovery meetings to understand client operations and exposures.

Design and present commercial insurance strategies and coverage recommendations.

Lead renewal strategy discussions for producer-led accounts.

Partner closely with Personal and Commercial Lines Account Managers for onboarding and service continuity.

Ensure smooth handoff of new business while remaining involved at key milestones.

Allow Account Managers to handle day-to-day servicing, endorsements, and claims coordination.

Identify cross-selling and referral opportunities.

Qualifications & Experience

Active Property & Casualty Insurance License or ability to obtain.

Prior experience in commercial insurance sales or account management preferred.

Strong consultative selling and relationship-building skills.

Ability to analyze complex risk exposures.

Proficiency with agency management systems and Microsoft Office.
