Position Overview The

Senior Loan Review Associate

resides within the Loan Review team in Enterprise Risk Management and is responsible for conducting loan reviews across the bank’s non‑consumer loan portfolios. The role involves analyzing financial information, collateral, and underwriting decisions to ensure compliance with bank policies, regulatory guidelines, and to evaluate the quality and condition of individual credits. The Associate provides the VP, Loan Review, an objective and timely assessment of the credits reviewed.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct loan review analysis of non‑consumer loans across the bank’s various portfolios.

Analyze financial information, cash flow, collateral, loan documentation, and underwriting decisions.

Analyze Debt Service Coverage Ratio and/or covenant trends and develop asset update/action plans.

Ensure individual loan transactions are adequately underwritten and properly graded, conforming to policy.

Make recommendations for adjustments to the loan risk grade and collaborate with the VP, Loan Review and credit personnel.

Participate in targeted reviews, including retrospective reviews and lessons learned, to improve underwriting and asset management.

Identify relevant portfolio trends that may indicate changes in credit risk.

Develop and maintain functional partnerships with line‑of‑business colleagues to ensure effective communication and understanding of credit‑related processes.

Promote a positive work atmosphere and communicate professionally with co‑workers, management, partners, and vendors.

Ensure compliance with all banking laws, rules, regulations, and prescribed policies/practices/procedures to reduce risk and uphold ethical standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a business‑related or accounting field; minimum of 5 years’ experience as a credit analyst, loan review associate, or risk analyst with a steadily growing commercial portfolio.

Knowledge of SBA, commercial & industrial, multi‑family, and healthcare lending; banking or financial services background preferred.

Strong analytical and organizational skills.

Ability to influence at all levels of the organization through strong verbal and written communication; confidentiality required.
