As Lead Carpenter, you’ll run day‑to‑day site operations for interior remodels, kitchens, baths, basements, flooring, and premium cabinet installs. You’ll set the pace for quality and safety, coordinate with the owner and subs, and keep work flowing on schedule.
Responsibilities
Plan daily and weekly work, sequence tasks, and maintain clean, safe, protected job sites.
Install cabinetry, trim, doors, and hardware with precision and craftsmanship.
Perform rough framing, drywall (hang/finish/repair), painting, flooring (LVP/laminate/hardwood), and tile work.
Lead and mentor 1 to 3 carpenters or laborers, ensuring quality, speed, and safety.
Verify measurements and layouts, read plans, and resolve field conditions proactively.
Communicate with the owner and clients, manage punch lists, and document progress in JobTread.
Handle material takeoffs, deliveries, inspections, and light sub‑trade coordination.
Enforce quality standards, verify fit and finish, and close projects with minimal punch items.
Qualifications
7 or more years of residential carpentry with 2 or more years leading small crews.
Advanced cabinet & finish carpentry skills (required).
Competency across rough carpentry, drywall, paint, flooring, and tile.
Able to read drawings, perform accurate layout, and use laser/levels and all major power tools.
Professional client communication and calm, solutions‑first mindset.
Reliable transportation and ability to commute to sites within ~40 minutes of Frankfort, IL.
Lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and perform essential job functions (reasonable accommodations available).
JobTread or similar project software experience is a plus.
OSHA‑10/30, basic plumbing/electrical finish knowledge a plus.
Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. at time of hire.
Willingness to submit to a background check and drug test after offer, consistent with Illinois law.
Pay And Benefits
Full‑time, W‑2 Employees
Compensation: $30.00 to $45.00 per hour (DOE)
