Logistics, Fleet & Asset Manager

Fox Marble, Richmond, CA, United States

Overview Fox Marble has been one of the Bay Area’s premier stone fabrication and installation companies for more than 40 years. From custom kitchen slabs to large-scale commercial projects, our team of expert fabricators, installers, and craftsmen transforms natural stone and tile into spaces that last for generations. We’ve joined forces with Fireclay Tile to build a vertically integrated surfaces company that combines handcrafted materials, precision fabrication, and expert installation — all under one roof. We’re reimagining how our field operations run by evolving from a decentralized model into a hub-and-spoke logistics system that improves efficiency, reduces cost, and elevates the quality and consistency of every installation. Our Richmond facility is home to a team of highly skilled craftsmen who take pride in doing things the right way.

If you enjoy building systems, solving real operational challenges, and working alongside teams who care deeply about their craft, this is a rare opportunity to have an outsized impact.

The Team You’ll Work With As the Logistics, Fleet & Asset Manager, you will work directly with the CEO of Fox Marble and partner closely with field leaders, warehouse teams, and installers to transform how our logistics operation runs. This is a high-ownership, build-and-improve role — equal parts strategy and execution. You will be responsible for designing and running the systems that ensure every crew, every vehicle, and every jobsite is set up for success. This role reports to Eric Edelson, Fox Marble and Fireclay’s CEO, and is based out of our Richmond, CA facility.

Compensation This is a full-time role with a target compensation range of $70,000 – $90,000 annually plus bonus, depending on experience and scope of ownership.

The Opportunity You’ll Have

Build & Optimize Fleet and Asset Management (Top Priority)

Own and evolve a 50+ vehicle fleet into a high-performance, centralized system that minimizes downtime and maximizes productivity.

Develop a hub-and-spoke transportation model to reduce inefficiencies and “windshield time.”

Leverage telematics (e.g., Samsara) to optimize routing, monitor safety, and improve fuel efficiency.

Own preventative maintenance programs to ensure near 100% fleet uptime.

Manage high-value field assets and specialty tools, ensuring proper tracking, calibration, and recovery.

Create visibility and accountability across all fleet usage and performance.

Lead Strategic Procurement & Inventory Systems

Design and operate a procurement engine that ensures crews always have what they need — without overbuilding inventory.

Own vendor relationships and execute against pre-negotiated agreements (e.g., Laticrete, CTD).

Implement and refine Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) models to balance supply with warehouse constraints.

Maintain and evolve a Master SKU List for installation materials.

Build a just-in-time material flow system to job sites, reducing waste, clutter, and breakage.

Drive toward zero stock-outs while maintaining disciplined inventory levels.

Standardize Tools, Systems & Quality Control

Create consistency across every crew and job by ensuring tools, equipment, and processes meet a high bar every time.

Define and maintain Standard Tool Kits (STKs) for every vehicle and crew.

Lead weekly readiness audits to ensure tools are present, functional, and jobsite-ready.

Build systems for tool organization (e.g., Packout systems) that improve speed and reduce loss.

Establish clear standards for tool quality, maintenance, and replacement.

Partner with field leaders to continuously improve installation readiness and execution.

What Success Looks Like (KPIs)

100% of crews depart with complete, job-ready toolkits

95%+ inventory accuracy on high-velocity SKUs

Measurable reduction in fleet idle time and cost per job

Near-zero material stock-outs

Clear, scalable systems that support continued growth

About You

Systems & Data Driven: Comfortable with fleet and inventory tools (telematics, ERP/WMS, or similar) and use data to drive decisions, not guesswork.

Tech & AI Forward: Leverage tools like spreadsheets, operational software, and AI (Claude, ChatGPT, etc.) to improve workflows, solve problems, and move faster.

Entrepreneurial Ownership: Take initiative in ambiguous environments, build systems from scratch, and think like an owner — balancing cost, quality, and scalability.

Hands-On with High Standards: Comfortable in the yard and behind a spreadsheet, with a high bar for cleanliness, organization, readiness, and execution.

Respect for the Work: Value craftsmanship and take pride in supporting field teams with systems that help them do their best work.

Why This Role Matters This role sits at the center of a major operational transformation. By building a more efficient logistics system, you will directly impact job profitability, installer productivity, customer experience, and our ability to scale as a vertically integrated company.
