Consumer Lending Associate

Detail-oriented and knowledgeable lending professional that is responsible for reviewing new consumer loan applications for underwriting, preparing closing documents and communicating with internal customers (Loan Originators/Retail Branch Network) on loan updates and questions. Provides comprehensive support to the consumer lending department, collaborating on timely and compliant execution of the loan approval and underwriting process.

Key Responsibilities:

Review new loan applications taken by NMLS and Branch Employees for completeness and accuracy in preparation for underwriting, including ensuring initial loan disclosures are generated and completed within regulatory standards, OFAC check, initial demographic information and initial disclosures are completed accurately.

Coordinate loan closings with NMLS and Branch Employees.

Prepare, review, and deliver Consumer Loan and Home Equity closing documents, including a comprehensive pre-closing quality review to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Review and index documents post-closing for proper completion and retention.

Coordinate communications, including emails, phone calls, and Salesforce cases, to properly update loans in-process including when additional items are requested, questions arise, approvals are updated, closings can be scheduled, etc.

Manage communication and tracking of documents that require revisions and updates to ensure proper and timely corrections.

Assist with other tasks within the Consumer Lending Department for the various functions when needed.

Interact with all lines of business with questions related to current Consumer Loans.

Identify opportunities for departmental efficiencies, process improvements and propose solutions.

Perform additional duties as necessary.

Education & Experience

Associate Degree in Business or related field preferred.

1-3 years’ experience in banking preferred.

Experience with Encompass Mortgage Software is preferred.
