The Human Nutrition division of Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) is seeking a Central Sales Account Manager. This entry‑level role offers exposure to prospecting, quoting, negotiation, product applications, virtual selling, and other sales & marketing activities. Success can lead to advancement within the Nutrition Commercial Organization, including pathways to senior sales, marketing, and business management.
Position Summary The Account Manager reports directly to the Director of Central Sales and is based in Erlanger, KY. Responsibilities include sourcing and managing new sales opportunities, maintaining customer relationships, collaborating with cross‑functional support teams, and executing an aggressive call schedule to enhance customer connectivity.
Key Responsibilities
Identify, pursue, and manage inbound and outbound sales opportunities for the ADM Nutrition portfolio.
Maintain accurate records of quotes, sales activity, and contracts in the CRM system.
Act as a power user of customer relationship management tools (e.g., Salesforce.com) and provide detailed reporting to sales leadership.
Support customers through sample/opportunity entry, project management, and lead follow‑up.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (e.g., CD&D, Regulatory, Customer Service, Procurement, Legal) to meet customer needs.
Build rapport with the broader sales team and identify appropriate placement for new customer leads.
Conduct proactive outbound communications following a scheduled call plan.
Maintain comprehensive product knowledge of all nutrition ingredients.
Assist in post‑sale administration and continuous improvement of sales effectiveness.
Qualifications
Undergraduate degree required.
Minimum of 2 years of sales experience.
Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
Proficiency with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce.com).
Ability to develop and nurture relationships with key customers and cross‑functional teams.
Organizational, time‑management, and negotiation skills.
Willingness and ability to travel throughout continental North America.
