Executive Director of Leadership Development and Instructional Improvement

What You’ll be Doing:

Provide leadership for instructional improvement initiatives aligned with state standards, district goals, and research-based teaching practices to improve student learning.

Coach and mentor principals, vice principals, and instructional leaders while facilitating leadership development programs that strengthen instructional leadership across the district.

Oversee the district assessment system, coordinate required state and local assessments, and lead data analysis to inform instructional strategies and school improvement efforts.

Partner with school leaders to develop and monitor School Improvement Plans and implement Multi‑Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) to address academic, behavioral, and social‑emotional needs.

Guide instructional walkthroughs, observation and feedback systems, and professional learning to improve teaching quality and promote equitable, culturally responsive practices.

Maintain accurate data systems, ensure compliance with state and federal requirements, supervise assigned staff, and provide reports and recommendations to district leadership and the school board.

What You’ll Need:

Education: Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in job‑related area.

Experience: Experience as an principal/assistant principal preferred.

Licenses/Certificates/Registration: Must have a Washington State Principal Certificate and WA State Teaching Certificate. Must meet WA State Certification Criteria.

Minimum qualifications: Five years of effective K-12 classroom teaching experience required. Two (2) years of building‑ or district‑level leadership experience required.
