Job Summary The Segment Marketing Specialist - Natural Gas (Open Market) is the marketing owner for Border States\' Natural Gas open-market segment, responsible for developing and executing the segment marketing strategy and annual marketing plan. This role drives brand awareness, market presence, and growth by translating business objectives into integrated marketing strategies and leading execution across campaigns, events, training, and customer engagement. Working closely with Marketing leadership, Industry Marketing, Sales, and Natural Gas leadership, this role balances strategic planning and hands-on execution to advance the company\'s position within the Natural Gas market.
Responsibilities Essential Functions
Develops and owns the marketing strategy and annual marketing plan for the Natural Gas open-market segment, aligned to business objectives and core market priorities.
Identifies priority customer segments, growth opportunities, and key initiatives aligned to business objectives.
Leads integrated marketing programs across digital channels, events, sponsorships, enablement, and internal communications.
Drives brand awareness and positioning to strengthen Border States\' visibility and reputation in the Natural Gas market. Maintains strong understanding of market dynamics and competitive landscape; provides insights to inform strategy and messaging.
Defines KPIs and success metrics and delivers performance reviews with insights and optimization recommendations.
Leads planning and execution for Natural Gas tradeshows, sponsorships, and networking events and the annual Natural Gas summit.
Owns and evolves Natural Gas 101 internal training curriculum and delivers in-person and virtual training as needed.
Partners closely with Industry Marketing, Sales Enablement, Digital Marketing, Creative Services, and Marketing Operations to ensure alignment and execution excellence.
Supports strategic customer meetings and serves as the primary marketing partner to the Natural Gas Open Market team.
Ensures marketing initiatives are integrated into the overall marketing calendar and executed on time and within budget.
Upholds brand standards across all marketing materials, events, and communications.
Non-essential Functions
Travel, as needed, for industry events and customer engagements.
Supports public relations and social storytelling opportunities related to the Natural Gas market.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Bachelor\'s degree in marketing, communications, business, or related field, or equivalent experience. 3+ years of B2B marketing experience, preferably supporting a defined market or customer segment.
Experience developing marketing strategies and executing integrated campaigns.
Experience with events, sponsorships, and customer-facing marketing initiatives.
Working knowledge of digital marketing channels. Experience with CRM and marketing automation platforms (Salesforce, Pardot, or similar) preferred.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office.
