The VPSM serves as a key member of the senior leadership team, responsible for the strategic direction and execution of all sales, marketing, communications, and public relations efforts across Friendship Village’s portfolio: Friendship Village Dublin, The Bailey and Friendship at Home. This role blends expert oversight with tactical execution, leading revenue growth strategies, stewarding the organization’s brand identity, and cultivating a culture of performance, collaboration, and innovation.
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in sales and marketing strategy across senior living services, with a strong background in continuing care / LifePlan community settings and services. They are passionate about building high-performing teams and skilled at translating enterprise-wide goals into consumer-centric execution. The VPSM will serve as a key voice in shaping organizational growth. This includes supporting both existing operations and future expansion or development efforts. The VPSM will play a pivotal role in aligning brand, culture, and customer experience to meet the evolving expectations of today’s and tomorrow’s consumers.

Strategic Leadership & Organizational Integration
- Lead the collaborative development and implementation of company-wide sales and marketing strategies aligned with organizational goals and market opportunities.
- Serve as the brand steward for Friendship Village Dublin, ensuring that messaging, positioning, and visual identity reflect the organization’s unique value proposition and evolve with consumer preferences.
- Contribute to executive-level decision-making on long-term planning, market positioning, business line development, and innovation strategies.
- Represent the voice of the consumer, helping shape enterprise decisions around service, design, programming, and resident experience.
- Sales Strategy & Performance Accountability
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve occupancy and revenue goals across all Silverstone communities/products.
- Manage and motivate high-performing sales teams; set and track KPIs to measure success, identify gaps, and make data-driven adjustments.
- Foster a sales culture of transparency, responsiveness, and accountability, with clear standards for direct selling, networking, and outreach.
- Provide ongoing sales coaching and training; lead sales meetings and performance reviews.
- Ensure strong collaboration between community Directors and sales teams to drive top-line performance.
Marketing Strategy & Brand Stewardship
- Lead a collaborative, cross-functional process to develop and execute integrated multi-channel marketing strategies that drive leads, brand awareness, and business growth.
- Oversee market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities, risks, and evolving consumer trends.
- Formulate and sustain a clear, scalable brand architecture for Friendship Village Dublin, The Bailey and Friendship at Home, as well as, any future business.
- Ensure brand consistency across all communications, channels, and customer touchpoints.
- Shape market positioning and integrate key differentiators into services, amenities, and the overall resident experience.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure alignment between brand promise and organizational culture.
Strategic Partnerships & Vendor Management
- Own and manage relationships with strategic marketing and sales partners, including the organization’s advertising agency, CRM consultants, and other third-party vendors.
- Ensure clear two-way communication, collaborative planning, and alignment on product knowledge, campaign objectives, and brand messaging.
- Hold external partners accountable for performance outcomes, budget adherence, and timely execution of deliverables.
- Maximize the productivity and value of external partnerships by eliminating duplication of effort between internal staff and agency partners.
- Ensure all internal and external contributors understand and operate within clearly defined roles and responsibilities, promoting a unified team approach to executing the organization’s sales and marketing strategy.
Customer Journey, Experience & Cross-Department Collaboration
- Lead initiatives to optimize the full customer lifecycle—from initial inquiry through move-in and beyond—ensuring a seamless and consistent experience.
- Collaborate across departments (operations, HR, resident services) to create a service culture that reflects Friendship Village Dublin’s mission and values.
- Support onboarding and training of new employees to reinforce sales, service, and brand alignment from day one.
Public Relations & Communications
- Oversee public relations strategy, content development, and crisis communications planning in collaboration with agency partners.
- Ensure internal and external messaging aligns with brand voice, strategic goals, and community-specific needs.
- Represent Friendship Village Dublin externally at industry events, local community forums, and with referral partners and influencers.
Technology, CRM & Data Analytics
- Optimize CRM and marketing automation platforms to enhance lead management, segmentation, and campaign effectiveness.
- Ensure data integration across relevant systems (website, CRM, financial software, resident data platforms) to inform decision-making.
- Lead CRM adoption and usage across the organization, providing training and accountability to ensure accurate and meaningful data use.
- Monitor and analyze sales and marketing performance metrics; deliver regular reports, forecasts, and insights to senior leadership.
Financial Oversight
- Develop and manage the sales and marketing budget, ensuring resources are allocated strategically and efficiently.
- Track and report ROI of marketing campaigns and lead generation tactics.
- Adjust spending in alignment with business needs and performance outcomes.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in sales, marketing, business, and/or communications with a minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior living sales and marketing leadership role preferred.
- Proven experience in managing a successful sales team.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to analyze market data and make data-driven decisions.
- Ability to develop new business opportunities and close sales.
- Effective written and oral communication skills to various audiences.
- Proficiency in conflict management with flexibility to adapt quickly to changing situations.
- Public relations abilities to communicate all aspects of the organization.
- Exceptional negotiation skills.
- Proficient skills in Powerpoint, Office Word, Excel, and CRM and other sales/marketing systems.
- Must be able to travel in Ohio and produce a valid driver’s license.
- Regular on site attendance required
