Senior Account Manager

Overview / Job Description:

A large pharmaceutical organization is seeking a Senior Accounting Manager to lead U.S. accounting operations and support accurate financial reporting, timely month-end close, and strong internal controls. This role will oversee daily accounting activities, manage a team, support external audits, and partner closely with FP&A, Supply Chain, and other business functions to ensure financial data is accurate, compliant, and actionable.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead month-end close for all U.S. legal entities in accordance with IFRS
• Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Ensure accurate general ledger activity within SAP
• Perform variance analysis and investigate material account fluctuations
• Maintain audit-ready documentation and ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, IRS, and internal controls
• Support annual external audits
• Partner cross-functionally to improve reporting and financial visibility
• Manage, mentor, and develop accounting staff while driving process improvements

Required Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA required
• 7–10 years of accounting experience; public accounting and/or pharmaceutical experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, IRS compliance, and internal controls
• Prior people management experience
• ERP experience required; SAP preferred
• Advanced Excel skills; working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint
• Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of management
