Director of Information Technology
to lead enterprise-wide IT operations, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and digital transformation initiatives.
This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for ensuring that technology systems effectively support our business operations while driving innovation, scalability, and security across the organization.
Position Summary The Director of Information Technology is responsible for leading and overseeing the company’s overall IT strategy, infrastructure, and cybersecurity. This role ensures that technology solutions effectively support Thermal Concepts’ service, construction, and administrative operations. The Director of IT will drive digital transformation initiatives, optimize ERP/CRM platforms, manage vendor relationships, and ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of all technology systems across the organization.
Key Responsibilities IT Operations & Infrastructure Oversee daily IT operations to ensure system uptime and reliability across all departments Manage network infrastructure, servers, cloud platforms, hardware, and telecommunications systems Maintain and support ERP, accounting, payroll, and field service platforms Oversee system upgrades, patches, and hardware lifecycle management Ensure proper documentation of systems, configurations, and IT processes Cybersecurity & Risk Management Implement and enforce cybersecurity policies and best practices Monitor firewalls, endpoint protection, network security, and threat detection systems Oversee data backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning Conduct periodic risk assessments and vulnerability testing Lead cybersecurity awareness initiatives for employees Technical Support & Service Delivery Oversee internal IT helpdesk and support functions Ensure timely resolution of system issues impacting office and field personnel Support mobile devices and field technology tools used by technicians and project managers Develop and maintain IT service standards and response time expectations Vendor & Budget Management Manage relationships with IT vendors, MSPs, software providers, and hardware suppliers Oversee contracts, renewals, and service agreements Assist in managing the IT operational budget Ensure cost-effective procurement of technology resources Compliance & Governance Ensure adherence to IT policies and data governance standards Support compliance requirements related to data protection and financial systems Maintain secure access controls and user permission protocols
Qualifications Required: 7+ years of progressive IT experience Minimum 3 years in leadership or management role Strong experience managing: Networks Servers Cloud systems (Microsoft 365, Azure) Cybersecurity tools Experience supporting ERP platforms
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field Experience supporting ERP systems such as
Viewpoint Vista Industry experience in: Construction, HVAC, Mechanical contracting, Field service environments
Skills & Competencies Strong operational leadership and team management skills Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities Strong cybersecurity knowledge and risk mitigation practices Ability to manage multiple systems and vendors simultaneously Excellent communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders High attention to detail and accountability
