
Senior Estimator

Overview
The Senior Estimator supports Parkhill’s Construction Management (CM) team by leading the preparation and evaluation of cost estimates for a variety of architectural and engineering projects. This role ensures the financial feasibility of projects throughout the construction phase by collaborating with design teams, contractors, and clients. The position contributes to value engineering efforts, construction change management, and contractor negotiations. This is an exempt position paid on a salary basis.

Responsibilities
Prepare detailed cost estimates at various stages of design and construction
Review drawings, specifications, and other documentation to ensure estimates reflect project scope
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to align cost expectations with design intent
Evaluate bids, proposals, and subcontractor pricing for accuracy and completeness.
Support change order evaluations and construction budget management
Assist in value engineering, identify cost-saving opportunities, and present recommendations
Maintain historical cost data, unit pricing databases, and market trend reports.
Mentor junior estimators and participate in continuous improvement of estimating processes
Ensure all estimating activities comply with Parkhill’s QA/QC standards
Participate in internal and external meetings related to cost planning and construction services
Develop quantity take-offs using digital methods
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field preferred
Minimum 8 years of estimating experience in architecture, engineering, or construction services
Experience with large-scale commercial or civic projects
Strong understanding of AEC industry, construction means and methods, materials, building codes, and project phases, especially during construction administration
Proficiency in estimating software
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skillsProven ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously
