Summary American Fan is seeking a Crater / Skidder at our Fairfield, OH facility. This role involves constructing custom crates and pallets, packaging, and preparing shipping orders to ensure the safe and efficient transport of products. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, skilled in communication, and committed to quality, efficiency, and teamwork.

Primary Responsibilities

Build custom crates and pallets for fan models using tools like saws, nail guns, drills, and more.

Secure fans and components to pallets and prepare them for safe transport.

Package, weigh, stretch wrap, and load shipments onto trucks.

Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to move items within the plant.

Track, organize, and replenish crate materials and skid inventory.

Process shipments in the ERP system and prepare documentation (packing slips, BOLs, etc.).

Label shipments accurately and ensure crates meet quality standards.

Participate in 5S activities to maintain a clean and safe workspace.

Perform other tasks as assigned by the manager.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

Detail-oriented with strong accuracy and organization skills.

Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and manage multiple tasks.

Basic knowledge to be able to use and navigate Microsoft Suite products.

Knowledge of manufacturing metrics like productivity and efficiency.

Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with employees, vendors, and customers.

U.S. Person status required per ITAR/EAR regulations (e.g., U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident).

Note This position requires access or potential access to Unclassified Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information, which is Not Releasable to Foreign Nationals (NOFORN) data. Therefore, to meet NOFORN requirement, you will have to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship and attest that you do not have dual citizenship. Acceptable proof of U.S. Citizenship is a U.S. Passport, U.S. Birth Certificate, or Naturalization Certificate.
