Job Summary The Visual Designer – 3D creates compelling designs that bring Makita’s brand to life across print, digital, retail, and 3D applications. This role blends traditional graphic design with expertise in 3D modeling and rendering to support marketing campaigns, retail environments, product education, and digital experiences.

Digital Design

Design website UI layouts, eblasts, and digital content in Figma, ensuring strong user experience and brand alignment.

Create graphics for social platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, X) to promote products and brand storytelling.

Produce interactive 3D renderings of Makita tools and accessories for digital use.

Develop print‑ready assets for brochures, advertisements, event graphics, vehicle wraps, and in‑store displays.

Create original logos, illustrations, and infographics to support branding initiatives.

Render realistic 3D concepts of retail merchandising displays, packaging, and store layouts.

Skills Required

Design & Technical Expertise:

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and related creative/production tools. Strong foundation in typography, layout, composition, and brand consistency. Ability to adapt creative concepts across print and digital.

Analytical & Problem‑Solving:

Ability to research, analyze, and interpret data to inform design decisions. Skilled at identifying challenges, developing solutions, and applying feedback to improve outcomes.

Project & Time Management:

Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining accuracy and quality.

Communication Skills:

Excellent verbal, written, and visual communication skills. Capable of presenting ideas clearly, listening actively, and collaborating across departments and with vendors.

Collaboration & Teamwork:

Works effectively within a team environment, contributing to a positive culture, respecting diverse perspectives, and supporting shared goals.

Innovation & Initiative:

Technical & Digital Skills:

Competent in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and content management systems. Comfortable with both Mac and PC environments. Knowledge of prepress, printing, packaging, and digital standards as appropriate.

Supervisory Responsibility This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

This position works in an open office setting that is quiet, fast‑paced, and fosters continuous learning while operating under high demand/volume. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, and print production equipment.

Education and/or Experience Desired

Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, Visual Communication, or related field.

3–5 years of professional design experience, with a strong portfolio across print, digital, social, and 3D design.

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects).

Expertise in Cinema 4D; knowledge of Blender or other 3D tools is a plus.

Strong skills in Figma for website and digital layout design.

Knowledge of typography, layout, and composition across print and digital platforms.

Experience in the power tool industry is preferred but not required.

Excellent attention to detail and ability to collaborate across teams.

Travel Travel is not required.

Physical Demands

May be required to occasionally lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.

Able to ascend and descend stairs.

Physically & mentally able to work in an environment that may be subject to strict deadlines and multiple projects.

May be subject to overtime as required.
