Citi’s US Commercial Bank (CCB) is a rapidly growing business targeting emerging, mid‑ and larger‑sized companies with annual revenue generally from $100 million to $3 billion with greater than $10 MM of credit exposure. To facilitate CCB’s wholesale lending activities, Commercial Lending Management (CLM) serves as an in‑business credit function organized around strategic industries and a global target market approach. CLM plays a critical role in client delivery, translating thought‑leadership, industry and product expertise into best‑in‑class lending solutions.

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated credit professional to join the US CLM Services team, reporting directly to the US CLM Industrials Sub‑Sector Head.

Key Responsibilities

Facilitate the end‑to‑end lending process within the US CCB for assigned relationships and portfolio.

Maintain deep knowledge of the assigned portfolio and industry, articulating credit views based on well‑supported analysis that balances risk and business objectives.

Ensure appropriate regulatory classification and minimize net credit losses for the covered portfolio; identify emerging concerns for escalation.

Accountability for decisioning using credit covering approval authority in tandem with Independent Risk.

Directly manage underwriting requests for new‑to‑bank and existing credit relationships, including pre‑screening opportunities, amendments, extensions, annual reviews, and other credit requests.

Lead timely analysis and preparation of monthly and/or quarterly financial memos for existing borrowers to track compliance with loan covenants.

Direct and supervise loan documentation for new transactions and amendments or modifications; coordinate with internal partners and external counsel.

Conduct periodic client calls on all portfolio clients and select new‑to‑bank opportunities in partnership with Relationship Managers.

Develop and maintain extensive knowledge of the various credit products and services offered to CCB clients.

Mentor and develop junior staff to become effective resources and future Credit Officers and Bankers.

Recommend process improvements to achieve greater efficiency and controls.

Work proactively and collaboratively with stakeholders to keep transactions moving forward within appropriate controls.

Qualifications

6–10 years of credit authority experience, including work in a regulatory and compliance policy environment.

Proven analytical skills: assess financial statements, cash flow, industry/competitive analysis, and projections; handle complex business structures.

Knowledge of intermediate accounting theory and its application in credit underwriting.

Excellent organizational skills, prioritization, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.

Effective interpersonal and communication skills.

Strong problem‑recognition and resolution skills.

Pro‑active disposition, able to work autonomously and within a team.

Proficient in Excel, Word, and financial analysis software.

Experience handling complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, balancing alternatives and conflicting needs.

Venue for exercising wide latitude and discretion, making significant impact on the area and overall performance.

Provides advice and counsel related to technology or operations of the business.

Education

Bachelor’s or University degree (Master’s preferred).
