Junior High Girls Wrestling Coach - HS
Crook County School District 1, Hulett K-12 – Hulett, Wyoming.
Summary Under the general supervision of the Athletic Director and Principal, coaches plan, organize, and lead practices that align with their sport. They analyze strengths and weaknesses of athletes and opposing teams to develop strategies and select team members for competitions. Coaches play a vital role in motivating and mentoring students, fostering sportsmanship, and instilling respect for the game. They ensure all students have equal opportunity to participate and benefit from the school's athletic programs, serving as role models and educators to help student‑athletes grow on and off the field.
Reporting Relationships This position reports to the Athletic Director, who provides overall objectives and evaluates performance in conjunction with the high school principals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Plan and lead structured practice sessions.
Create and implement strategies to maximize team performance in competitions.
Provide real‑time feedback and coaching during games.
Maintain accurate player and team records.
Recruit new athletes to strengthen the team.
Mentor players to develop discipline, teamwork, and respect for the sport.
Encourage and motivate athletes to continuously improve their skills.
Maintain equipment and facilities to ensure a safe and functional playing environment.
Required Education and/Or Experience
High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Previous experience playing or coaching the sport is preferred.
Required Certifications
Coaching permit for designated sport through Wyoming Professional Teaching Standards Board, or the ability to obtain one.
Current CPR/First Aid Certification.
Physical Demands The role requires standing, walking, sitting, talking, hearing, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, and occasionally lifting or moving up to 50+ pounds. Vision requirements include close and distance vision.
Work Environment Noise level ranges from moderate to quite loud depending on activity in the sporting arena.
