
Route Service Representative - Commission

Position Summary
The Route Service Representative will operate a non‑CDL box truck on a dedicated route, delivering products, rendering services, selling products, collecting payment from customers, and building an excellent relationship with the customer.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Follow all Department of Transportation rules and regulations.
Complete each day’s route with effective customer service and efficiency.
Collect payment from customers and use a handheld computer to complete transactions and invoices.
Work with office personnel and production to assure orders are filled and meet customer satisfaction.
Complete the day’s route in a timely and safe manner.
Conduct proper inventory of customer linen.
Receive soiled product and properly tag linen bags to ensure accurate production counts.
Perform a daily inspection of the truck before beginning the route.
Follow all traffic laws and Department of Transportation regulations.
Demonstrate and promote Superior Linen Service culture and values.
Communicate effectively with customers.
Maintain a high level of customer relationship by making goodwill calls.
Listen to and resolve customer complaints.
Maintain proper appearance; uniform at all times.
Complete documentation as required, including computer data entry.
Verify load sheets and soil reports for accuracy each day before starting the route.
Maintain a Driver Qualification file; may be required to travel across state lines.
Education, Training & Experience (Required)
Active Driver’s License.
Preferred Qualifications
High School Diploma, Technical Certification, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills & Abilities
Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Exhibit self‑initiative, accountability, and flexibility.
Effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.
Basic computer use skills.
Working Conditions Physical Demands:
The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the job. Reasonable accommodations may be made. Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear. Must lift up to 100 pounds and move bins & carts up to 850 pounds. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
Regular exposure to outside weather conditions. Occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and possible blood‑borne pathogens. Noise level usually moderate.
