Description
A Civil Designer will contribute to planning, proposal preparation, site evaluations, analytical designs, report preparation, specifications, and construction documentation within a multi-discipline environment. This role supports site development and civil infrastructure design for complex industrial and commercial facilities, serving a diverse portfolio of clients across projects ranging from concept through construction. Responsibilities
Design civil engineering projects, including site design, land development, roads, storm drainage systems, storm water management facilities, water and sanitary sewer utility design, sediment and erosion control, and traffic control, airports, and facility design. Develop drawings for production work including problem analysis, design layout and calculations on non-routine assignments of substantial variety and complexity. Execute variety of civil design assignments using prescribed methods and standard techniques including drawing sequence and presentation, sizing various system components and refining rough sketches. Lead portions of civil design scope with general direction, coordinating with engineers and other disciplines to produce complete and accurate design deliverables. Execute changes to designs or sketches and mark-ups on ongoing projects. Analyze reports, maps, drawings, tests, and other topographical and geologic data to plan and design projects. Incorporate applicable codes, standards, and specifications into the design. Review design deliverables for compliance with scope, budget and schedule requirements. Perform and report volume calculations for excavation, dredging, and upland site grading. Responsible for revisions of project drawings, plot files and project-related information storage in a logical and well-structured manner consistent with project or company standards. Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all policies and standards. Qualifications
Bachelor Degree in drafting technology or related field and 7 years related experience. Associate Degree and 8 years related experience. 9 years progressive detailing and design experience. Expert understanding of design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and Excel to develop the design deliverables. Expert knowledge in design, calculations and design systems. Expert knowledge in the theory and practices of civil discipline; competent in the fundamental concepts of other disciplines as they relate to the assigned discipline; and capable of operating related discipline design software necessary to execute production tasks. Ability to work collaboratively with others (Project Managers, Engineers and Designers) in a multi-discipline project team environment to resolve design or drawing issues as appropriate and to accomplish objectives. Excellent written & verbal communication skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail. Preferred
Comprehensive understanding of civil engineering theory and practices; working knowledge of related disciplines as they apply to the assigned discipline; and ability to operate discipline-specific design software necessary to execute production tasks. Compensation
$105,000.00-150,000.00 Yearly The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in compliance with all local/state regulations. The expected compensation range for this position is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience and work location. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate in our discretionary year-end incentive bonus program. Benefits
