ASSISTANT ATHLETIC DIRECTOR FOR COMPLIANCE Position: Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance.

Location: Edinburg, Texas.

Scope of job: Manage day‑to‑day operations of Athletics Compliance in accordance with NCAA, Conference and University rules.

Responsibilities

Monitor compliance with NCAA, Conference and University rules and regulations.

Develop, approve and monitor student‑athlete recruiting procedures and policies, practice seasons, and camps/clinics.

Serve as liaison to the Office of Student Financial Services.

Monitor and maintain all eligibility and financial aid certification records, including monitoring team and individual limits and preparation of squad lists.

Assist in the coordination of academic certification of initial, continuing and transfer eligibility.

Monitor the textbook distribution process.

Attend Conference and NCAA meetings and seminars.

Provide rule interpretation for staff and athletes.

Provide research and legislative recommendations on NCAA and Conference voting.

Conduct initial investigation on possible rule violations.

Perform rule and regulation education.

Attend regularly scheduled compliance meetings to maintain knowledge of current and recently established policies.

Ensure familiarity and knowledge of NCAA Division I rules required as part of job duties.

Assist with game management responsibilities.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.

Preferred Education: None.

Required Experience: Two (2) years of job‑related experience.

Preferred Experience: None.

Licenses/Certifications: None.

Required Skills/Knowledge: Knowledge of local, state, federal, and National Collegiate Athletics Association laws and regulations related to intercollegiate athletics.

Other Working Conditions: Office environment; some travel and weekend work required. Ability to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally. UTRGV requires presence at multiple locations throughout the Rio Grande Valley.
