Air Export Forwarding Agent - Dangerous Goods

Responsibilities

Provide and ensure a high level of customer service by developing and maintaining strong relationships with customers' front line personnel in the various operating divisions and subsidiaries.

Prepare, analyze, and/or submit documentation to the appropriate parties (agents and clients) to ensure compliance with laws and regulations relating to transportation.

Anticipate, identify, and resolve problems that could delay timely release or movement of freight.

Maintain relationships with correspondent brokers, T&B, and service providers to ensure agents exceed customers' service requirements.

Resolve banking and letter of credit issues.

Advise customers on payment terms.

Resolve billing issues and ensure invoicing and vendor payments are accurate.

Complete accurate data input or corrections into computer files.

Develop rates and/or provide quotes for freight movement.

Generate special manual reports to meet customers' needs.

Ensure all communication with internal and external customers is updated in a timely manner.

Coordinate freight forwarding functions, including customer booking requests, setting up new shippers, assisting with restricted articles submission, etc.

Complete import/export documentation in accordance with international trade regulations.

Engage with clients regarding billing disputes, shipment status, new lanes, and service improvements.

Dispatch carriers to pick up at CFS, FTN and customer distribution centers.

Track and trace shipments, including entry of all milestones and exceptions.

Work all iServe cases.

Coordinate oversized and out‑of‑gauge shipments.

Handle hazardous material shipments.

Perform any other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.

Proficient computer skills.

Strong customer service, organizational, and written/oral communication skills.

Knowledge of freight forwarding or logistics required.

Working knowledge of air export regulations, if appropriate, related to export and Schedule B tariff classification.

Understanding of banking requirements for international trade.

Regulations regarding dangerous goods shipping and foreign regulations.

Familiarity with handling hazardous materials.

Knowledge of import/export regulations for DOT.

Basic math skills for conversions to metric and currency evaluations.

Minimum one year of experience in freight forwarding or logistics or related field work.

Pay:

Total Base Pay Range 15.85 - 30.09 USD hourly.

Additional Details:

Monday to Friday 8:30am – 5:30pm / Hybrid. Must have customs brokerage experience. Candidates must reside within 50 miles of East Point, GA 30344.
