Overview Bloomberg News is looking for a macro strategist to join Markets Live, its flagship markets blog for Terminal clients. You will join a global team of experienced strategists and editors who combine sophisticated macro analysis, speed and news judgment to deliver a 24/7, real-time product. You will construct frameworks to translate the most pertinent themes into actionable insights across asset classes. You will use your contacts to stay on top of market trends and talking points. You will have the opportunity to contribute to our team's audio squawk channel, as well collaborate with colleagues across print, broadcast and digital.
Requirements To be successful in this role, you will need prior experience covering macro markets. You will have the ability to communicate ideas in cleanly written and sharply delivered posts, often under time pressure. You will have a nose for news, and the skill to provide context on why it matters for traders and how it could shape markets moving forward. You will have a willingness to leverage Bloomberg's AI and quantitative tools to craft analysis that won't be easily replicable anywhere else.

Produce macro markets analysis for Bloomberg's Markets Live blog with authority and accuracy in English
Identify underlying themes and shifts in global markets
Adjust your pace of work, as warranted by breaking news/economic data
Be a team player, collaborate with colleagues and deliver output to serve the collective needs of MLIV at any given time
Tap a varied pool of market contacts and analysis tools to shape ideas
You’ll Need To Have
A body of written analysis on global asset markets that showcases your ability to structure robust frameworks and construct coherent, original arguments
Expertise in several asset classes
A willingness to adapt to a newsroom's pace, and workflows for editing and verifying information
A strong work ethic and excellent communication skills
An ability to work calmly and quickly under pressure
A willingness to use/learn about Bloomberg's AI and quant tools for analysis
Familiarity with Bloomberg terminal functions (preferred)
Compensation & Benefits Salary Range = 140000 - 195000 USD Annually + Benefits + Bonus. The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
