Location: Austin, Remote in Texas
Compensation: $130,000 - $140,000 + Bonus

What will the Payroll Manager do?
Manage a payroll team that processes weekly and bi‑weekly payroll cycles for multiple subsidiaries while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and timeliness.
Maintain payroll information by working closely with sales, field teams and revenue teams to improve processes, and by helping in designing systems; directing the collection, calculation, and entering of data for accurate, scalable payment processing.
Assist the payroll team with discrepancies, benefit deductions, garnishment calculations, and proper taxation to ensure compliance.
Assist in M&A activity to include mapping and overseeing payroll transition plan.
Improve data quality of payroll‑related information to integrate with our platform.
Maintain payroll guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by staying current on existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
Maintain payroll staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
Manage the production and timely delivery of biweekly payrolls as well as off‑cycle payrolls as needed.
Lead day‑to‑day activities for assigned payroll team members.
Ensure payroll system correctly processes salaries, reported hours worked, utilized paid leave and accruals.
Ensure the timely completion of all payroll tax reporting requirements and the issuance of W‑2s.
Ensure proper tax treatment, accounting, and disposition of withholdings, such as taxes, deductions for benefits, charitable contributions, and retirement contributions.
Financial reporting and payroll audit requests and reporting.
Experience Required
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
Five years of payroll management experience, including people management, with strong expertise in ADP Systems Implementation preferred.
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification, strongly preferred.
Multi‑state and multi‑payroll experience.
Experience managing payroll teams supporting 2,000+ employees and/or multiple entities.
Strong understanding of payroll as it relates to accounting and the general ledger.
In-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal wage and hour laws.
Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal payroll tax requirements.
Demonstrated sound judgment with a commitment to integrity, compliance, and confidentiality.
Strong interpersonal, leadership, and problem‑solving skills with a proactive mindset.
