Department of Revenue, Mississippi. This position is NOT REMOTE and the agency does not offer relocation assistance.
Salary $65,779.54 - $89,789.07 annually
Location 25 - HINDS COUNTY, MS
About the Agency The Department of Revenue is the primary agency for collecting tax revenues that support state and local governments in Mississippi.
Responsibilities
Perform a wide range of complex security procedures and processes necessary to ensure the safety of information systems and assets.
Protect systems and data from intentional or inadvertent access or destruction.
Ensure technical staff understand and adhere to necessary procedures and processes to maintain security.
Drive and track POA&M progress across the agency.
Coordinate external teams in the execution of audits for regulatory and standards compliance.
Provide input into the development of security policies.
Act as Threat Analyst during incident response.
Assist in the creation and management of response and recovery plans.
Review access change requests from users, approving standard or low-risk requests.
Develop understanding of different Business Unit needs to apply to requests.
Provide advice to management on the balance between business needs and data security.
Assist users in accessing training system, maintain user accounts, and execute regular training.
Conduct complex IT data and security forensic investigations.
Implement physical security elements including process changes for and audit physical access control.
Operate security camera systems.
Apply knowledge of domain structures, user authentication, digital signatures, intrusion detection, and internet architecture.
Key Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree.
5-8+ years of IT experience with emphasis on security and compliance.
Proficiency in threat detection, incident response, and complex security data analysis.
Effective communication and staying updated on emerging threats and technologies.
