As a

Sales Representative

for Bunzl Distribution, you will be accountable for meeting and exceeding sales targets while supporting our Redistribution segment in the

Western Ohio

Geometry. You will drive sales through both account management and new business development. Your product mix will include a variety of disposable products including paper products, packaging, janitorial supplies, safety, sanitation, and food service items. As part of our Redistribution segment, your customer base would include various distributors supplying food and disposable items to hotels, restaurants, entertainment venues & resorts.

In addition to serving as a business development partner, you will build customer relationships, handle customer complaints and inquiries, manage Accounts Receivables, and effectively communicate with all appropriate internal departments and support personnel. As a Sales Representative for Bunzl, you will have the opportunity to work in a fast paced and ever-changing environment where attention to detail, a strong sense of urgency, initiative and drive are integral to achieving personal, professional and company goals.

This geography covers the Western Ohio geography, with the bulk of the existing clients in Cincinnati, Dayton or Columbus, OH. Ideal candidates will live near

Columbus or Dayton

to effectively cover the territory, but we will consider candidates living within the listed coverage area. While sales reps are considered residence based, they are expected to do day travel to their customers 3-4 days per week so living within the listed geography is required.

Responsibilities

Actively foster key customer relationships and realize future growth potential

Daily sales calls with distributor reps

Weekly planning of sales actions

Monthly recaps of targeted sales priorities

Contact customers to solicit orders, and establish new relationships

Displays or demonstrates products, using samples or catalog and emphasizes salable features

Attend required customer and company scheduled meeting

Promote new products within existing customer base

Establish and grow new accounts

Provide timely and accurate sales forecast to operational team to ensure inventory levels are up to date

Evaluate pricing every quarter to ensure and protect margins

Grow territory with topline and bottom-line results

Participate in industry association functions

Work with outside vendors on new materials and new innovative packaging solutions with regards to packaging

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent required

Bachelor's degree - preferred

Must have 2+ years of inside/outside sales experience

Ability to effectively plan weekly and daily activity directed towards targeted sales opportunities with the account manager- including travel within the geography 3-4 days per week

Effectively develop knowledge and skill levels

User level proficiency in a MS Windows operating environment including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, CoPilot & Dynamics)

Experience with AS400 is preferred

Self-starter who takes initiative and maintains excellent follow-through and follow-up

Strong results orientation and sense of urgency

Work effectively in situations that involve change and/or competing demands

Proficient handling of all confidential and time-sensitive material

High level of personal accountability

Ability to identify and prioritize key initiatives

Have and maintain a valid US driver's license

As a Sales Representative, this role will have a total first year compensation package of $65,000-$125,000 (inclusive of competitive base salary and guaranteed commission component for the first 6 months) based on candidate experience, education & geometry. After 6 months, you will transition to a traditional commission plan that is a mix of salary + commission.
