As a Freight Broker, you’ll play a critical role in keeping freight moving by securing shipment opportunities, matching dependable carriers with customer loads, and coordinating transportation from pickup to delivery. You’ll be a key connector between shippers and carriers, ensuring cost‑effective, on‑time transportation while maintaining strong partnerships on both sides of the business.

What You’ll Be Doing

Source and manage freight opportunities for asset‑based third‑party logistics (3PL) services

Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and carrier partners

Act as the primary point of contact between carriers and customers to ensure seamless transportation execution

Provide accurate freight rates and pricing options tailored to customer needs

Coordinate compliance with brokerage licensing requirements alongside the Director of Transportation and Safety Coordinator

Prepare and manage freight documentation, including claims, insurance forms, and operational reports

Monitor equipment and personnel utilization to optimize schedules and capacity

Maintain accurate shipment, dispatch, and expense records

Verify shipment details against bills of lading and resolve discrepancies efficiently

Support additional transportation and logistics initiatives as needed

What We’re Looking For

Proven experience in freight brokerage, dispatching, or load planning

Strong working knowledge of TMS systems and 3PL operations

Experience with freight rate calculations, contract negotiation, and sales strategies

Proficiency with administrative tasks, recordkeeping, and Microsoft Office Suite

Solid understanding of transportation safety and security protocols

Ability to multitask, prioritize, and handle time‑sensitive situations with confidence

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Standard office environment with indoor work conditions

Ability to sit for extended periods

Occasional evening and weekend availability may be required

Must be able to remain calm and effective during high‑pressure or crisis situations

Works in close proximity to others with low to moderate noise levels
