Job Summary - The role of a server is to serve all guests and/or members and take care of their needs and requests as it pertains to their dining experience. You are also responsible for bringing the guest and/or members incredible customer service by menu and product knowledge, completing correct orders, timely/friendly service, and anticipating and accommodating any and all of the guests and/or members needs. Primary Responsibilities & Essential Functions - Ensure that food is prepared correctly and to customers' satisfaction as well as company standards; returns incorrect or improperly cooked orders to kitchenServes food and beverages to guests as per the restaurant's standards in a friendly, timely and efficient mannerEnsure that the guests have a pleasant dining experienceObtain complete knowledge about ingredients, flavors and suggestions about menu itemsInform guests about special items for the day and menu changes.Take food and beverage ordersCollect plates and clear the table as customers finish their mealsObtain revenues, issue receipts, accept paymentsPerform basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisorComplete pre-shift and post-shift duties including setup and teardown of certain stationsAll other duties as assigned Qualifications
Education and Experience - Must be at least sixteen years old (at least 18 years old to serve alcoholic beverages)Previous experience as a server preferredMust successfully compete in food safety, alcohol, and job training.Sufficient education and literacy needed to identify and read product labels and to communicate with guests about job-related needsAbility to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in basic English preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities - Detail-oriented and thoroughAbility to remain discreet and respect the privacy of guestsAbility to perform consistent work to the highest standardsAbility to interact with guests in a pleasant, friendly wayAbility to multi-task and manage multiple guests at a timeKnowledge of special diets to ensure safety of guests when ordering foodBasic Knowledge of Spirits, Beer, Wine & BeveragesAbility to work well in a team environmentExcellent interpersonal and customer service skillsWell-organized with ability to take and place food and beverage orders accordinglyAbility to operate point-of-sale systems Physical Demands - Standing for extended periods, walking, bending, kneeling and stooping.Must be able to lift up to 25lbs.Must be able to safely deliver food and drinks on different surfaces Working Conditions - Exposure to slippery surfaces and stairs depending on locationIndoor and/or outdoorExposure to extreme heat and cold depending on season and locationPotential exposure to naturally occurring environmental factors such as wind, rain, red tide, etc.Possibility to work 11+ hour shifts The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed and are not an exclusive list of all duties and responsibilities.
