Job Description Job Description Scenic Designer / Technical Director Aberdeen Community Theatre Aberdeen, SD (On-site) Full-Time | $38,000-$43,000 + Benefits + Relocation Support Overview Aberdeen Community Theatre is seeking a Scenic Designer / Technical Director to lead the design and execution of scenic and technical elements across multiple productions each season. This is a hands-on role with a clear path to grow into a Technical Director position. Candidates nationwide are encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities * Design and execute scenic elements for mainstage and youth productions * Oversee set construction, painting, and technical build-out * Support lighting and sound design as needed * Manage production timelines to ensure deadlines are met * Provide technical support during rehearsals and performances * Collaborate with staff and lead volunteers throughout the production process Qualifications * Experience in scenic design, technical direction, or theatre production * Ability to manage projects from concept through execution * Hands-on experience with tools, construction, and stage equipment * Strong communication and organizational skills * Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends Compensation & Benefits * Salary: $38,000-$43,000 (based on experience) * Paid time off and holidays * Retirement plan (403b option) * Opportunity for advancement into a Technical Director role About Aberdeen Community Theatre Aberdeen Community Theatre is a well-established, award-winning nonprofit organization with a long history of producing high-quality theatre.
