Job Description and Summary of Duties

The Tech Director is responsible for all on‑campus AVL systems, utilizing them in a manner that displays excellence, diligence, stewardship, and care to further Christ’s kingdom in Cypress, TX, through Good Shepherd. The ability to recruit, train, and lead a team of volunteers is vital to the success of this position. Responsibilities

Program, maintain, and manage all AVL elements for rehearsals, worship, and special events, including ProPresenter playlist, audio network, lighting and audio consoles, streaming audio/video, and stage management. Provide final approval of ProPresenter 7 Playlist for rehearsals, worship, and special events. Patch/strike stage as needed for rehearsals, worship, and special events. Coordinate, schedule, and train volunteer production team members for adult worship. Coordinate and supervise AVL contractors as needed (e.g., weddings, funerals). Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot all AVL equipment churchwide, manage the AVL systems of three campus venues, and provide AVL support to all ministry departments. Attend weekly worship planning meetings. Attend or coordinate AVL coverage for seasonal special events. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. The Ideal Candidate

Experienced with an advanced knowledge of ProPresenter, live digital audio engineering (Yamaha), live production lighting (Lightkey), and audio networking (Dante). Skilled in live video production (Blackmagic Design), and familiar with Planning Center Services and YouTube Studio. Effectively communicates both inside and outside the congregation on all levels. Confident in building and leading volunteer teams. Remains calm under pressure, putting people first always. Displays a contagious faith in Christ. Exhibits a positive attitude, is teachable, and has a hunger for excellence. Other Information

All of the above duties and responsibilities will be conducted according to the GS Safe Sanctuary Guidelines. Work Environment, Schedule, and Demands

Sunday mornings are a requirement of the job, including holidays that fall on a Sunday. Non‑Sunday events are required as well, approximately 7–8 times per year (often including: Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, the Saturday before Easter, a fall event, a December event, Christmas Eve, and one or two nights of worship). This is a 20‑hour position, generally Sundays (7 a.m.–Noon) and weekday workdays on site.
