Overview
SAP HCM Consultant – Benefits, Time and Payroll - Remote
We are seeking an SAP HCM Benefits, Time and Payroll consultant to support and enhance our current implementations in SAP HCM and SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll. The right candidate will have strong experience in SAP Benefits, Time and Payroll, and will have both functional/business process knowledge in those areas, along with strong SAP system configuration experience. Experience with Employee Central Payroll is a plus. The ability to read and understand ABAP code, including debugging, will be an advantage. This is a business-facing role, and the person will work with both the business SMEs and members of the SAP technical teams. Good communication skills, the ability to plan and manage work effectively, strong interpersonal skills, and being able to own and deliver work independently, are essential skills for success in this role.
The person will work remotely in the US Eastern time zone.
This position does not allow for 3rd party, Corp-to-Corp or visa sponsorship.
Key responsibilities
Provide expert-level production support during payroll execution , ensuring accurate and timely payroll runs across ECC and EC Payroll
Act as the primary point of contact for Payroll, Time and Benefits issues , performing impact analysis and driving resolution end to end
Enhance and maintain Payroll, Time and Benefits interfaces
to support changing business, vendor, and compliance requirements
Execute and support payroll testing activities , including regression testing, and validation during upgrades and changes
Manage day-to-day payroll and benefits operational tickets , prioritizing issues based on payroll timelines and business impact
Support taxation, compliance, and year-end activities , including BSI updates, audits, and regulatory reporting
Coordinate closely with HR, Benefits, Payroll Operations, IT, department users and external vendors
to ensure smooth Payroll, Time and Benefits operations
Perform data analysis, reconciliations, and variance checks
to proactively identify and resolve discrepancies
Document system changes, support procedures, and business rules, and participate in knowledge transfer and cross-training
Support day to day operations for resolution of issues with timesheets due to missing/duplicate punches, leave request posting issues and challenges with time data transfer
Support data replication errors across all the core HR systems and understand the appropriate follow ups needed . This includes both employee master data and org/job/position data.
Skills and Qualities
5+ years of hands-on experience in implementation and support for SAP HCM Time and Benefits, and SAP HCM Payroll or SAP Employee Central Payroll is required
Knowledge of Employee Central payroll including Overpayments and Payroll Control Center
Knowledge of how SAP Finance integrates with SAP Payroll for Commitments / Allocations / Consumptions involving Funds and Grants
Exposure to SAP Employee Central is preferred
Some understanding of ABAP code including the ability to debug code is a plus
Able to effectively translate business requirements into technical solutions
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
SAP certification preferred, but not mandatory
Flexibility and willingness to take on challenging work
Pay $50 - $65 / hour W2 Depending on Experience
