What You Will Be Doing
This full‑proficiency, professional‑level role within the Division of Retirement and Benefits (DRB) involves providing counseling and technical assistance to employees and State of Alaska employers who participate in DRB retirement plans. Key responsibilities include performing account reconciliations, certifying member account corrections and indebtedness payments, troubleshooting the employer reporting system, and maintaining strong internal controls.
The position supervises the daily operations of six Active Payroll section staff, supporting the processing of all incoming retirement contributions and related data submitted by more than 150 employers across the State of Alaska. It also resolves complex issues and provides guidance on the practical application of State of Alaska Statutes and DRB procedures, ensuring accuracy and high‑quality service.
Additional duties involve formal and informal training to staff and employers statewide, working closely with the system vendor to support testing, and training employers on a new employer reporting portal.
