Title: Director Packaging Communications Location: Lund, SE

Within the Packaging Communications team, you will be playing an active role to create the packaging communications strategy and drive measurable business impact by delivering qualified sales leads and accelerating revenue growth through an integrated omni-channel communications approach. Position the company as the industry leader with a unique complete solution that differentiates us from competitors, while engaging nearly 8,000 Packaging Solutions and Development & Technology employees.

This role bridges the innovative work of two key business units: Packaging Solutions and Development & Technology. We produce 180 billion packages each year and understand that different food and beverages have diverse customer requirements, and packaging must be appealing for consumers and retailers, be environmentally sustainable, and also optimised for global distribution challenges. Whether it’s innovating the packaging solution for the newest plant-based drink, to extending shelf life, using certified recycled materials, or further developing renewable materials, this role needs to communicate all of this and more!

In addition to this, the role requires to promote our engineering expertise, leveraging best-in‑class manufacturing technologies, and of course to showcase our amazing people that come to work and develop world leading food processing and packaging solutions.

Strategic Communications Leadership

Demonstrated ownership of a global, multi-year communications strategy developed and executed across at least 15 countries, including evidence of measurable business impact such as pipeline acceleration, market share contribution or cost-of-acquisition improvements.

Proven ability to translate complex technical or engineering solutions into compelling value propositions, demonstrated through previous campaigns with quantifiable results (for example, X percent increase in qualified sales leads).

Create, update and execute a rolling annual communications plan for the Packaging Solutions and Development & Technology businesses, ensuring alignment with the company’s integrated solutions strategy.

Lead a team of professionals to deliver communications that generate leads, drive sales activation and strengthen customer relationships across all channels.

Promote the full offering and communicate value propositions in an outside‑in, customer‑centric way that resonates with decision‑makers.

Integrate category communication into product launches and the existing portfolio, ensuring relevance for each category and subcategory.

Align communications with paid activation, events calendar, sales materials and marketing automation flows to maximise impact.

Integrated Omni‑channel Campaign Execution

Proven leadership experience of integrated campaigns for a multi‑national organisation exceeding EUR 500k, across paid, owned and earned channels, including full ROI analysis.

Demonstrable experience using marketing automation platforms and CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce, Pardot, HubSpot) to build automated journeys, nurture flows and segment audiences – candidates must present dashboards or performance reports they personally built.

Sales Enablement and Revenue Impact

Proven track record of developing sales toolkits that directly contributed to opportunity conversion, supported by quantifiable KPIs such as win‑rate improvement, shortened sales cycle or growth in solution adoption.

Experience partnering with commercial teams where communication initiatives demonstrably supported specific revenue targets, including examples of contribution metrics.

Category and Portfolio Storytelling

Experience embedding category insights into product launches, or category communication plans tied to market trends and customer needs – candidates must share sample launch materials or category narratives they authored.

Evidence of elevating a technology, innovation or engineering portfolio through messaging frameworks, content systems or thought‑leadership platforms.

Internal Communications for Large Technical Workforces

Proven ability to engage large, globally distributed technical or engineering employee groups (5,000+ employees) through structured internal communication programmes, with evidence of improved alignment, engagement scores or adoption of strategic initiatives.

Leadership Communications at Executive Level

Experience directly preparing Executive Vice Presidents or C‑suite leaders for internal and external communications, with examples of speeches, message houses, Q&As, or crisis statements the candidate personally led.

Measurement, Analytics and Process Discipline

Proven track record of creating communications processes from scratch, deploying them across multiple teams, and demonstrating measurable improvements – for example, crisis workflow adoption, content production velocity or governance adherence.

Ability to build and interpret performance dashboards, including funnel metrics, channel analytics, campaign attribution and internal engagement measures.

Agency and Supplier Management

Experience leading a multi‑agency ecosystem, including creative, digital, editorial and video production partners – candidates must demonstrate past governance structures, briefs and output quality.

Operational Excellence

Demonstrable mastery of complex project management, including Gantt‑based planning (or equivalent), risk mitigation plans, stakeholder mapping and status reporting across multiple time zones.

Experience running communications budgets exceeding EUR 1 million annually, showing financial stewardship, reallocation decisions and savings delivered.

Positioning and Value Creation

Position the company as an industry leader through a complete solution approach that differentiates us from competitors.

Lead with value towards customers for integrated solutions and offerings, promoting all capabilities and the benefits of working with one supplier across the value chain.

Drive short‑and long‑term sales growth by generating leads and supporting conversion through compelling content and campaigns.

Team Leadership and Development

Manage, coach and develop the communications team, including performance management and capability building.

Ensure delivery of effective always‑on and campaign communications at solution, product and category levels.

Oversee internal communications that inform and engage employees in Packaging Solutions and Development & Technology, fostering alignment and engagement.

Lead change communications for strategic programmes owned by the units.

Measurement and Governance

Own and manage the packaging communications budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation.

Proven track record of process creation, deployment and with measurement impact

Additional Contributions

Support crisis communications when required.

Contribute to the continual improvement of communications capabilities, processes and culture within the unit.

In this position you will lead and drive activities that cross all channels to communicate our customer value, our global expertise, and our portfolio innovation to deliver measurable business impact.

The position is based in Lund, Sweden and reports to the Vice President Global Customer Communications.

What you will do

Work closely with Communications Director Integrated Solutions and Services responsible for Processing, Solutions & Equipment and Services communications, across all relevant channels to ensure consistent messaging and maximum business impact, and Communications Director Digital responsible for enhancing lead generation, strengthening global brand equity, and delivering high‑impact, data‑informed visitor experiences that drive business growth and deliver customer and visitor value.

Plan and implement activities for product, solution, services, and category initiatives in partnership with the Packaging and Market Communications teams

Create and implement integrated communications plans to support strategic objectives.

Plans should include: Measurable related communication goals with business impact that includes

Creation of relevant messages to engage target audiences

Selection and implementation of relevant channels and materials to deliver messages to defined target audiences via an omni‑channel approach

Project management including clear status reporting to business partners

Utilisation of relevant Global Communications tools, processes, templates and guidelines (including creation of new ones where needed and continual improvement of existing ones as required)

Produce effective, joined up communications.

Creation of integrated communications plans to support the strategy and achieve the business goals. Plans should include: Measurable related communication goals

Definition of internal and external target audiences, including their profile needs

Creation of relevant messages to engage target audiences

Project management with status reporting to business partners

Budget creation, monitoring and control for all activities

Utilisation of relevant Group Communications tools, processes, templates and guidelines

Development of sales tool kits to support front line staff and measurement of their success (KPIs)

Selection and implementation of relevant channels to deliver messages to defined target audiences

Engaging employees via internal communication channels with relevant portfolio messaging before publishing externally to reach customers

Organise photo and video shootings as necessary for communications materials

Manage news pipeline, working effectively with Editorial Communications Manager, product management, product marketing, and other business units as applicable

Develop and oversee launch programs

Increase the visibility of customers’ global references across all media channels

Ensure communication programs are using "best in class" content for e‑communication tools (social media, internet, videos, GEO, SEO, etc)

Create, monitor and control the relevant communication development and activation budget, including effective management of external suppliers

Lead and collaborate with agencies to develop plans and materials

We believe you have

Extensive experience (10+ years) spanning marketing, communications and portfolio roles, with the ability to translate complex business needs into integrated value-driven solutions.

Experience in an international cross‑functional environment and relevant working areas

Outstanding message development, writing and presentation skills

Stakeholder engagement and alliance building expertise

Track record in successfully collaborating with cross‑functional and cross‑country teams

Documented experience from developing and executing communications plans, ideally for technology, innovations and solutions portfolio, with measurable impact

University degree; preferably in Communications, Journalism, or Business Administration

High proficiency in English

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills (including both written and spoken English); an instinct for news; and the ability to identify opportunities to raise Tetra Pak’s global packaging profile. They will have a strong understanding about all aspects of communications and be able to build strong relationships across the business to produce best‑practice communications. They will use all forms of public relations to build, maintain and manage the awareness and reputation of Tetra Pak’s packaging solutions and innovations as the leading supplier of advanced food production systems.
