Residential Electrical Leadman

Job Summary The Electrical Leadman is responsible for leading a crew of residential electricians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems for new single-family homes in the Rio Grande Valley area.

This position CAN be paid piece rate.

The Leadman ensures all work meets company quality standards, adheres to safety regulations, and complies with applicable codes. Must be experienced, reliable, and able to work in a fast-paced construction environment.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate and oversee day‑to‑day operations on‑site, ensuring assigned work is completed per scope and schedule.

Perform electrical installations including rough‑in, trim‑out, and final inspections in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC).

Troubleshoot and diagnose residential electrical systems with minimal supervision.

Ensure all work is completed according to IES Residential safety procedures and policies.

Communicate effectively with project managers, superintendents, team members, and clients as needed.

Lead and mentor apprentices and electricians on proper installation techniques and job site conduct.

Complete documentation of completed work for both quality control and compensation tracking.

Submit accurate completion reports aligned with piece rate expectations. (when applicable)

Maintain all required tools and PPE to perform assigned tasks.

Ensure jobsite is clean, safe, and organized at all times.

Minimum Education None

Minimum Years of Experience 0–2

Qualifications

1–2 years of residential electrical experience, including crew leadership responsibilities.

In-depth knowledge of NEC standards and residential construction practices.

Familiarity with piecework processes and tracking is a plus.

Ability to lead crews to meet deadlines without compromising quality.

Must pass background check and drug screening as per company policy.

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift 50+ pounds and work in varying weather conditions.

Frequent standing, bending, walking, and climbing.

Ability to work extended hours, including weekends, as project timelines demand.
