Job Description The Regional Manager, Retail is fiscally responsible for the oversight and execution of monthly sales plan achievement, bi-yearly inventory results, and overall brand standards and operational efficiencies across all Shop locations within their designated territory. In partnership with General Managers and Assistant General Managers of their assigned clubs, they are responsible for staffing positions and training all Shop Managers-on-Duty and Style Advisors to operate according to brand standards. This role directs and motivates the retail sales team to ensure the highest level of customer service to every Equinox member and guest.

The Regional Manager, Retail reports directly to the Senior Regional Club Director, supporting club leadership with overall brand and club culture cohesion for Retail, and a seamless member experience across all locations within the Market. They are also supported by a national Retail Field Leadership team and a Retail Corporate team, from whom they take direction on Retail‑specific policies and procedures, financial goals and planning, and merchandise selection and allocation — ensuring maximum productivity and compliance with all company standards across their territory.

Reporting Structure & Key Partnerships

Reports directly to the Senior Regional Club Director to align retail operations with broader club culture, brand standards, and the overall member experience

Supported by a national Retail Field Leadership team for field‑level guidance, best practice sharing, and field communications

Supported by the Retail Corporate team for Retail‑specific policies and procedures, financial planning and goal‑setting, merchandise selection, and inventory allocation

Partners closely with club‑level General Managers, Assistant General Managers, and club leadership teams to ensure retail is integrated seamlessly into the overall club environment

RESPONSIBILITIES Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Talent Management

Serves as point‑person for coaching, training, and developing all levels of Shop staff within their Market, including Shop Managers‑on‑Duty (MODs) and Style Advisors

Identifies top training talent on the existing team and partners with them to onboard and develop each new employee

Recruits and maintains a staff that reflects the needs of the business and the character of each club community

Assists club management team with hiring, coaching, and development of Shop staff

Creates and maintains a succession plan within the territory

Acts as partner to club management and People & Culture on all employee relations and accountability interactions

Sales & Service

Achieves assigned monthly sales goals across all Shop locations within the territory

Coaches and develops Shop MODs and Style Advisors in selling tactics, tools, and key business metrics

Ensures an unparalleled customer experience for all Equinox members and guests

Acts in the best interest of the member when resolving any issues related to The Shop

Maintains current knowledge of all club and Shop services, programs, and products

Understands the member profile and demographic of each club in the territory

Personally engages in club communities and helps Shop teams do the same

Communications & Collaboration

Engages Shop teams in a manner that is respectful, professional, inspirational, and motivating

Maintains a regular communication cadence with the Senior Regional Club Director to ensure retail operations align with club‑level priorities and brand direction

Provides global feedback and offers possible solutions to the Retail Corporate team, Retail Field Leadership, and club business partners

Contributes a clear point of view during company calls, team meetings, and leadership presentations

Keeps all relevant parties informed of Corporate communications through timely emails and verbal discussion

Shares vision and direction with the Shop team in a way that earns enthusiasm and ensures follow‑through

Operational Excellence

Understands and upholds all loss prevention and inventory management policies, and ensures total team adherence to these standards

Ensures personal and team comprehension of all communications and training materials, and timely, accurate completion of all assigned operational tasks

Assists with scheduling and shift coverage in partnership with the Senior Regional Club Director, club management, and the Retail Corporate team

Performs timely, comprehensive Shop Visit Audits — both formal and informal

Product & Presentation

Ensures that each Shop and its staff reflect company brand standards through proper execution of merchandising and marketing direction, housekeeping standards, and adherence to the Shop dress code

Enforces and maintains excellent organizational standards on sales floors, at cash wraps, and in stockrooms

Ensures Shops within the territory are visually compelling by adhering to standards set by the Retail Corporate team and in partnership with the Senior Regional Club Director, club business partners and Retail Field Leadership team

Decision Making

Seeks creative solutions to operational and business challenges

Adapts management style as appropriate based on audience and context

Manages time efficiently across the territory, implementing best practices for visit planning and prioritization

Professional Dimension

Builds effective relationships and partnerships with fellow employees, colleagues, supervisors, and club leadership

Maintains working knowledge of happenings and general standards across the club environment to encourage camaraderie and a unified team spirit

Complies with and enforces all company policies and procedures; embraces and champions company initiatives

Communicates clearly and effectively at all levels, with tact and diplomacy

Remains receptive to feedback and demonstrates the ability to adapt accordingly

Pay Range: $80,000 annually, additional bonus opportunities available

Qualifications To successfully perform in this role, the individual should meet the following minimum requirements and qualifications:

Combination of education and/or experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the role

Multi‑unit or multi‑store management experience preferred

Proven leadership ability and comfort taking direction from multiple stakeholders

Experience in a customer service business; retail experience strongly preferred

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Basic computer skills and retail math knowledge

Hardworking and diligent, with a high degree of personal integrity and honesty

Strong time management, organizational, problem‑solving, and communication skills

Ability to embrace and apply new techniques and ideas

Availability to work a varied schedule based on the needs of a unique retail environment

Physical requirements: ability to lift, carry, and move a minimum of 40lbs, including fixtures and product

Ability to actively supervise a retail sales floor

Ability and willingness to travel to all Shop locations within the territory
