The Board Development Director position requires strong facilitation skills with knowledge of group dynamics, effective adult learning strategies, and experience building consensus. Proven ability to build rapport and engagement with and among individuals with diverse viewpoints and interests. The successful candidate will submit with their resume a cover letter that meets the specifications listed below. What was the goal of the learning session, and how did your contributions help achieve it? Share an example of a time you had to speak publicly on a complex topic. What strategies did you use to ensure clarity and engagement with your audience? Explain your approach to ensuring effective adult learning methods and consensus building within an adult training environment. The salary range for this position is $70K-$85K depending on experience, plus a competitive benefits package. After a designated training period, employees may qualify for a flex work schedule which permits work from home on Mondays and Fridays, with an option of additional work from home during the summer months. Position Summary

Responsible for designing, developing and implementing a variety of educational programs that will meet member needs for continuing education and professional development; as well as developing curriculum content, materials and facilitator guides. Facilitate on-site workshops for board/superintendent teams; frequent in-state travel and evening work required. Consults with other IASB members on board team issues and board/superintendent relations. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in related field. Demonstrated knowledge of school board roles and responsibilities and public education issues. Knowledge of adult learning methodology and experience in delivering instruction to adults. Excellent facilitation skills with knowledge of group dynamics and experience building consensus. Proven ability to build rapport and engagement with and among individuals with diverse viewpoints and interests. Experience in developing well-structured materials that effectively teach and support adult learners. Knowledge or experience with digital learning tools and fluency in using technology to deliver instruction to adults. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Essential Functions

Research and develop board development curriculum and expanded learning opportunities. Plan, organize, conduct and evaluate board development programs and presentations on effective governance in regional and statewide settings. Collaborate, plan, organize, co-facilitate and evaluate local board development workshops for board/superintendent teams, effectively facilitating team development and conflict resolution. Consult with members on effective school board governance, responding to questions and advising on effective practices. Create and edit board development curriculum materials and facilitator guides. Keep abreast of developments in board member curriculum and instruction methods to furnish leadership in determining their appropriateness for use in the development program. Promote participation of board members in development activities of the association. Monitor program budgets and provide evaluation and accountability data as needed. Core Organizational Functions

Able to sit at and operate a computer for extended periods. Able to speak clearly in front of small and large groups. Able to drive a vehicle and travel statewide. Able to lift and/or carry materials or equipment over 25 pounds. Able to walk up and down stairs. Able to occasionally walk and/or stand for extended periods. Terms of Employment
