RTW Designer
Citizens of Humanity is an established yet evolving women’s denim and ready‑to‑wear brand, rooted in authentic craftsmanship and elevated everyday style. Sitting at the intersection of heritage and modernity, the brand continues to refine its design identity while expanding globally.
We are seeking an RTW Designer to support the development and evolution of the women’s collection. This individual will bring a strong design sensibility, technical foundation, a sophisticated taste level, and a collaborative approach to building a product offering that is both directional and commercially relevant.
Role Summary The RTW Designer will partner closely with the Creative Director and design team to develop seasonal concepts and execute product across key ready‑to‑wear categories. This role is both creative and hands‑on, with involvement across the design process from concept through final production.
Key Responsibilities
Support the development of seasonal direction across color, fabric, silhouette, and wash for RTW categories including Knits, Wovens, Sweaters, and Jackets
Translate seasonal concepts into a cohesive product range that reflects the Citizens of Humanity aesthetic
Assist in the design and development process from concept through final fit and production
Create design packages and maintain clear communication with patternmaking and product development teams
Participate in fittings and support the execution of consistent fit and proportion across categories
Partner with Product Development and Sourcing to ensure design integrity, cost targets, and timeline adherence
Collaborate with Merchandising and Sales to align product with business goals
Contribute to fabric and trim development
Maintain awareness of market trends, competitive landscape, and emerging opportunities
Qualifications
3–5+ years of experience in women’s ready‑to‑wear design
Strong alignment with the Citizens of Humanity aesthetic – refined, effortless, and considered
Solid understanding of garment construction, fabrication, and fit
Experience across tops, shirting, sweaters, and outerwear preferred
Strong sketching and technical design skills
Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and collaborative
