Job Description We are seeking a talented and motivated Civil Designer to join our dynamic team. This role is integral to our growth, as CAD support has become a bottleneck in project delivery due to our rapid scaling. As a Civil Designer, you will help offload production work currently managed by lead engineers, thus reducing delivery friction and supporting our continued growth in environmental and civil infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
Utilize Civil 3D for various modeling tasks including preparing drawings and figures.
Develop and work with grading plans, cross-sections, alignments, profiles, three-dimensional surfaces, and earthwork volumes.
Incorporate land or aerial surveying/mapping data and files into design work.
Collaborate within consulting workflows, meeting deadlines, and coordinating with engineers.
Contribute independently to projects with minimal ramp-up time.
Essential Skills
3–8 years of Civil 3D experience in a consulting environment.
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D (release 2020 or newer).
Experience with Microsoft Suite Applications.
Clear driving record and possession of a US Driver’s License.
Ability to contribute independently with minimal ramp‑up.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D certification or ability to become certified within one year of hire date.
Experience with Autodesk Plant 3D, ArcGIS, and MicroStation.
Environmental and landfill experience is a plus but not mandatory.
Degree preferred but not required; equivalent experience is acceptable.

We offer a hybrid work model, with options for remote work, especially for strong candidates. Our team size is about 10 people, with project teams varying from 2 to 20. We offer flexible work hours typically from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM or 9 AM to 5 PM. Our office locations include San Diego, Costa Mesa, and Los Angeles. We hold quarterly team-building events to maintain a strong and cohesive team culture.
Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Costa Mesa, CA.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $32.00 – $55.00/hr.
