Senior Cybersecurity Specialist (Help Desk Focus)
Location:
On-Site (Long Island, NY)
Salary:
Up to $120,000 base + benefits
Overview Excellent opportunity to join a stable, growing organization in a
hands-on cybersecurity role
with strong visibility across the business. This position blends
IT support and cybersecurity , serving as a key escalation point while driving important initiatives around compliance, endpoint protection, and vulnerability management.
This is a
full-time, on-site role , within a small, collaborative team. You’ll play a critical role in strengthening the company’s cybersecurity posture while supporting day‑to‑day IT operations.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the
technical escalation point
for complex IT and endpoint‑related issues
Support and contribute to
cybersecurity initiatives , including
NIST 800-171
and CMMC compliance efforts
Perform
vulnerability management , remediation, and patching activities
Manage and monitor
endpoint security tools , including CrowdStrike EDR
Conduct
malware screening
for sensitive files, including government‑related drawings and contracts
Assist with
audit readiness, documentation, and compliance reporting
Help improve IT service delivery, reduce ticket backlog, and enhance overall support processes
Proactively identify opportunities for
process improvement and security enhancements
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in
IT support, help desk, or systems support
with cybersecurity exposure
Hands‑on experience with: Endpoint security / EDR tools (CrowdStrike strongly preferred)
Vulnerability management and patching
Troubleshooting across endpoints and user environments
Familiarity with
NIST 800-171
(CMMC knowledge is a plus)
Experience in a
regulated environment
(aerospace, defense, or government) is a plus
Strong communication skills with the ability to
ask questions, elevate issues, and collaborate effectively
Self‑starter with a
proactive, problem‑solving mindset
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary:
$80,000 – $120,000 (flexible for top candidates)
