Job Summary

This role will drive merchant experience improvements and revenue growth across the end‑to‑end merchant lifecycle. The outcome will shape commercial strategy to expand PayPal’s merchant base, lead complex partnership negotiations, and partner cross‑functionally with Product, Design, Engineering, and Research to deliver scalable solutions. Ideal candidates combine payments domain expertise with analytical rigor and a track record of measurable growth outcomes. Essential Responsibilities

Drive revenue growth and global market expansion by identifying and cultivating strategic partnerships, channels, and opportunities Lead the negotiation with external partners and engage cross‑functional support colleagues to ensure successful delivery of solutions for large complex partnerships Shape long‑term commercial strategy by assessing market dynamics, competitive positioning, and partnership performance to prioritize high‑impact growth opportunities Establish scalable partnership frameworks and operating models that streamline execution, enhance collaboration across teams, and ensure consistent delivery of partner value Align product and business levers (such as pricing and FX) to maximize revenue and market expansion opportunities Partner cross‑functionally with Product, Design, and Research teams to translate business priorities into scalable solutions—ensuring the technical design and implementation align with growth, commercial, and customer‑experience objectives Represent the end customer on an ongoing basis and use this knowledge to drive effective prioritization and decision making Collaborate and influence product outcomes in a matrix organization with multiple stakeholders such as Engineering, Operations, Risk, Legal, Sales, Business Development, Marketing, Finance, and Banking Partners Minimum Qualifications

5+ years relevant experience and a bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Preferred Qualifications

7+ years in product management, growth strategy, or commercial strategy within payments, fintech, or e‑commerce 2+ years with direct P&L ownership or retention/revenue KPI accountability with measurable business outcomes Strong analytical rigor—cohort analysis, churn modeling, propensity scoring, data‑driven business cases Track record influencing product roadmaps and leading cross‑functional initiatives in a matrix organization (Engineering, Sales, Risk, Legal, Finance) Payments domain depth: pricing strategy, partnership negotiations, marketplace dynamics, or merchant onboarding optimization MBA or advanced degree in economics, statistics, business, or computer science (valued, not required) Salary & Benefits

Base pay range for this role in San Jose, California: $116,500 – $173,250 annually. Additional compensation may include an annual performance bonus, equity, or other incentive compensation.
