What You Will Do In this vital role, the Executive Director, US Business Unit POD Lead, leads an integrated analytics and primary market research organization aligned to the Inflammation & Bone Business Unit (IBBU). You serve as the insights and analytics quarterback for the IBBU, ensuring data, analytics, and customer insights are integrated into clear, actionable perspectives that drive commercial performance. Each POD Lead oversees Directors responsible for Analytics and Primary Market Research and partners closely with leaders across Commercial, Medical, Forecasting, Value & Access, Finance, and Field Operations to deliver a holistic view of business performance, opportunities, and risks. As a trusted advisor to the Business Unit General Manager and senior leadership team, you bring an objective, transparent, and forward‑looking perspective on business performance, investment decisions, resource prioritization, and growth opportunities. Your role identifies leading indicators of performance, accelerates decision‑making, and enables the business to act quickly in dynamic market environments. You also advance the organization’s capabilities through automation, artificial intelligence, and advanced analytics, leveraging modern technology to accelerate insight generation, strengthen predictive capabilities, and improve decision quality. Additionally, you execute a global workforce and delivery model, leveraging teams across Amgen’s global delivery centers and strategic partners to scale insights generation with speed, efficiency, and consistency, coordinating work across sites such as Portugal and India to ensure optimal resource allocation, high‑quality delivery, and operational excellence.

Serve as the Strategic Insights Partner to the Business Unit Act as the primary analytics and insights advisor to the Business Unit General Manager and leadership team Integrate insights across analytics, primary market research, forecasting, value & access, finance, commercial operations, and medical to provide a holistic view of business drivers and performance Deliver objective, actionable perspectives on growth opportunities, risks, investment decisions, and strategic tradeoffs
Drive Business Performance and Identify Growth Opportunities Identify and monitor leading indicators of brand and portfolio performance to proactively inform decision‑making and drive business results Translate complex data into clear, executive‑ready insights that explain business performance and guide action Identify opportunities to improve performance by uncovering high‑potential healthcare providers, patient segments that may benefit from Amgen therapies, and points of friction across the patient journey Detect sources of leakage in the treatment journey and recommend actions to reduce drop‑off, improve patient progression, and enhance commercial execution Partner with cross‑functional leaders to ensure insights lead to measurable business outcomes
Enable Data‑Driven Decision Making Through Technology and AI Champion the use of automation, artificial intelligence, and advanced analytics to accelerate insight generation and decision‑making Leverage modern data platforms and predictive analytics to enhance business performance visibility and analytical rigor
Execute a Scalable Global Delivery Model Lead a globally distributed insights workforce spanning US teams, global capability centers, and strategic partners Leverage delivery hubs such as Portugal and emerging teams in India to scale analytics and insights delivery with speed, efficiency, and consistency Ensure governance, quality, and operating models across globally distributed teams
What We Expect Of You Basic Qualifications Doctorate degree & 6 years of market research, analytics, competitive intelligence, sales, and/or marketing operations experience OR Master’s degree & 10 years of market research, analytics, competitive intelligence, sales, and/or marketing operations experience OR Bachelor’s degree & 12 years of market research, analytics, competitive intelligence, sales, and/or marketing operations experience AND 6 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources
Preferred Qualifications Ability to influence senior leadership and shape strategic decisions through insights and analytics Strategic thinking and business acumen with deep understanding of commercial drivers in the biopharmaceutical industry Experience leading insights, analytics, or market research organizations supporting multiple brands or therapeutic areas Experience integrating multiple insights capabilities including market research, analytics, forecasting, and competitive intelligence Executive communication and storytelling skills with experience presenting to senior leadership Experience building and leading global teams across multiple geographies Knowledge of drug development, commercialization, and the broader healthcare ecosystem including patients, healthcare providers, and payers Experience leveraging advanced analytics, automation, and AI‑enabled insights capabilities Experience building and developing high‑performing teams
What You Can Expect Of Us The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is $275,763.80 to $373,092.20. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
