Customs Compliance Analyst

The Customs Analyst is responsible for supporting TaylorMade Golf's trade compliance functions across North American operations, with involvement in global import and export activity as needed. Reporting to the Customs Compliance Manager, this role assists in ensuring compliance with U.S. CBP, Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), and Mexican customs regulations. The Customs Analyst plays a key role in HTS classification, country of origin (COO) determination, FTZ administration, and the maintenance of internal compliance systems and databases. This position works closely with freight forwarders, customs brokers, internal stakeholders (Fulfillment, Operations, Finance, Legal), and external partners to support timely and accurate customs clearance.

Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities HTS Classification & Country of Origin

Classify products to the 10-digit HTS level for U.S. and Canada; support UK and other regions as needed

Determine country of origin for imported goods; maintain COO documentation and declarations

Maintain and update internal HTS classification database; provide updated parts databases to customs brokers

Collaborate with Product Development and Costing teams to classify new products accurately and support landed cost analysis

Audit HTS classification and FTA eligibility data to ensure ongoing accuracy; support Post Summary Correction (PSC) submissions as needed

Import & Export Compliance

Communicate regularly with U.S. and Canadian customs brokers to ensure CBP and CBSA regulatory requirements are met and entries are filed accurately and on time

Support oversight of daily cross-border processes between the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, including documentation review and issue resolution

Assist with management of in-bond shipments from foreign suppliers to the manufacturing facility

Support export compliance for shipments from North American facilities to Rest of World (ROW) destinations, including Liberty, CBD, and GSN lanes

Submit miscellaneous customs documentation including Antidumping/Countervailing filings, Letters of Authorization, and Wood Packaging certifications

Monitor and support Mexico-U.S. cross-border valuation and perform reconciliation audits

Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) Support

Support day-to-day FTZ operations including admissions, transfers, and withdrawals in compliance with CBP FTZ regulations

Maintain accurate FTZ inventory records and assist with reconciliation and periodic reporting requirements

Coordinate with the customs broker and internal operations teams to ensure proper classification and status designation for FTZ merchandise

Assist in preparation and submission of FTZ activity reports to CBP as required

Support FTZ audits and compliance reviews; help develop and maintain FTZ operating procedures and work instructions

CTPAT & ISA Compliance

Support maintenance of CTPAT security profiles for the U.S. importer and Mexican manufacturing facility, including vendor questionnaires and audits

Assist with ISA annual risk assessments, notification letters, and audit documentation

Duty Programs & Financial Compliance

Support the duty drawback program; assist with data gathering, documentation, and broker coordination for drawback submissions

Assist in administering the CAPEX assist program; coordinate with Finance and Sourcing to maintain asset logs and report assists to Customs

Support the GSP eligibility determination process; maintain worksheets and vendor declarations; provide updated qualifying product lists to brokers

Support ACE program oversight; audit data and assist with monthly reporting to Finance

Systems, Reporting & Process Improvement

Maintain brokerage-related key performance indicators (entered value/duty) in Domo

Support maintenance of data in ERP and compliance systems (Oracle, Refco, or equivalent)

Assist with development and documentation of customs compliance procedures, manuals, and work instructions

Support internal automation initiatives related to commercial invoicing and country of origin management

Train relevant personnel on shipping software platforms including UPS WorldShip, FedEx, and DHL as needed

Perform other related duties and assignments as required

Knowledge and Skills Requirements

Strong working knowledge of U.S. HTS classification, country of origin rules, and CBP import regulations

Familiarity with USMCA preferential tariff requirements and supporting documentation

Knowledge of FTZ regulations and operating procedures preferred

Understanding of CTPAT, ISA, duty drawback, and other trade compliance programs

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint); experience with trade compliance or ERP systems (Oracle a plus)

Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate clearly with brokers, vendors, and internal stakeholders

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment

Ability to work collaboratively across functions and with external partners

Education, Work Experience, and Professional Certifications

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, International Trade, or related field required

3+ years of experience in customs compliance, trade compliance, or import/export logistics

Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) Preferred

Experience with HTS classification and country of origin analysis required

FTZ operational experience preferred

Experience with CTPAT compliance and ISA programs preferred

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

Normal office conditions with extensive computer and phone usage.

Ability to work extended hours as necessary.

Able to work efficiently and accurately in an atmosphere of frequent interruption.

Light physical effort equal to frequent lifting or moving of lightweight materials.

Frequent travel may be required.

TaylorMade is a performance driven organization and our total rewards approach to compensation is designed to support this. We consider many factors in determining base compensation, including position scope, job related knowledge, education, skills, experience, and work location. The expected annual base pay range for this position is $75,000 - $85,000. Additional benefits, such as health & wellness, performance bonuses, product discounts, holidays, paid time off, etc. may also be offered in accordance with our plans.
